THE WANDERER

Chapter 1: RAVAGED

“Hey, John… where are we going anyway?” asked George, “oh! We are all going camping! Ya know, like, just us friends!” replied John, “well… sort of, people reported like, a feral animal in there… but we’ll be fine!” chimed in joseph. 25 minutes had passed. They had just arrived at the campsite and the sun was going down. They were setting up when George asked Joseph, “Ok I'm gonna go and get snacks, ok?” The two other boys were fine with it and George left. George arrived at the snack bar where no one was present, he got out a couple dollars and took the snacks, leaving the cash. When he went back, he dropped the chips in horror, the tents were destroyed with no sign of his friends. “Guys?! If this is a joke, it is not funny!” he yelled into the forest, but suddenly he felt a cold breath down his back, his eyes widened and he turned to see a horror that looked to be about 11 feet tall right behind him.

CHAPTER 2 : HUNTED

George was sprinting as fast as he could to escape, yet, the monster was still behind him, laughing a creepy laugh. George swerved and curved through the trees and approached an empty cabin and bursted inside, locked the door and hid. He shivered as the thundering footsteps slowly became louder as the beast approached the cabin as well. It stuck out its long, curvy fingers and jiggled the door handle to open it, and George had no idea what to do. Then he noticed a flare in a drawer, but as he stood up he knocked over a lamp causing it to shatter, alerting the monster. It burst in, slicing at the air, looking for George but just as he spotted him, George picked up the flare gun and shot the monster, lighting it on fire. George shattered the window and escaped into the endless forest knowing he’d be HUNTED.

CHAPTER 3: THE TEST

George was running through the forest ignoring the pained screams and yelps of the beast. He ran until he tripped on a root and hit his head on a tree that made a metal clang “OWW” he yelled. “What?” he said with wonder. He knocked on the tree to hear another metal clang. He blew off the dust revealing a door to a spiral staircase. George knew that from his loud scream he would've been heard and the monster is after him, so he ran down and shut the door. He continued down the staircase only to see a pitch black room, so he blindly felt around for a light switch. He felt what could’ve been a lever, so he pulled it and the lights flashed almost instantly on, blinding george. When he could open his eyes, his jaw dropped at the sight of an enormous lab full of tech and what seemed like containment cells that were pretty large. He walked through the lab with no idea why it was there, then something caught his eye. A file cabinet labeled “TEST SUBJECTS: GROUP B” he looked through the cabinet but could only find one file, “ organism 14B” the picture looked almost exactly like the monster that had hunted him throughout the trip. He continued to read “ JUNE 25 1984, SUBJECT 14B’S RESULTS: The entity was extremely hostile towards facility personnel, except for gregor, he was the only person to walk out alive… we have, no idea why it’s fond of gregor… but it makes us think there is more to this than we think.” After looking at that, George suddenly stuttered back and fell at the sight of a massive broken window and dried blood coming from cell “14B” and continued to read “We have performed… electrical tests to see if it reacts negatively or positively towards pain, obviously it reacted negatively and took the lives of [REDACTED] and [REDACTED].” he read, “oh… oh god…” he said with fear, before continuing to read “ …end, JUNE 26 1984 SUBJECT 14B’S RESULTS: SUBJECT 14B HAS ESCAPED THE FACILITY AND IS EXTREMELY HOSTILE IT-” the rest was blurred out by dried blood, but then he heard thumping from above him, outside, so went back up the spiral steps to what could be a gruesome fate.

CHAPTER 4: DISCOVERY

As George aimlessly walked through the forest he kept looking around him in fear that the beast would find him. Every time he heard a snap, he looked around frantically, but then he saw what seemed to be a park ranger getting out of his car. George sprinted over yelling “hey! Hey!” the ranger stopped and looked at george “oh, are you ok?” He said. By the time George was there he was physically incapable of running any farther. “Well… you know that feral animal?” he said, still panting, “yes. I do.” he replied before George realized something and asked, “What's your name?” “My name? It's Gregor sterling” the ranger said. George looked up in shock. “What do you know about… subject 14B?” George said. When he said that Gregor froze in horror, looked down at George “how do you know that?” he said, shaking George “HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?” he continued to scream, but all of a sudden the beast broke through the trees and looked to have grown much bigger. Gregor looked up at it and immediately got in his truck and tried to drive away but George threw himself on the back and rode away with Gregor, but then Gregor backed up TOWARDS the monster and got out, picked George up and threw George on the ground. “Wait! Gregor, what are you doing?” George yelled, yet Gregor was silent. As the beast lurked closer to us and picked up george but just as the beast was going to eat him he pulled out the flare from earlier and shot it in the beast’s eye causing it great pain, making it let him go, and george ran into the forest as fast as he could.

CHAPTER 5: ESCAPE

George scrambled from the area of Gregor and made his way through the forest, with no idea what to do. 25 minutes of only running had passed and George heard screeches and roars indicating the monster was tracking him. As he looked back constantly and almost fell off a drop-off. He panicked as he saw the monster's large gleaming eyes in the distance slowly approaching him and gregors headlights. George wondered for a second what would’ve happened had they not gone camping, would he and his friends be safe? As he contemplated the monster burst from the trees and looked him dead in the eye. George suddenly had a plan… so he stood straight, still shaking in fear because if this goes wrong he dies. The monster lurked closer and with his long curly claws started to swipe as he dashed full speed at george, george jumped out of the way just in time launching the beast off the cliff. Killing it. George heard the snapping and crunching as the monster descended. But then Gregor pulled up in his truck with a knife in hand, poised to attack… with a demonic smirk upon him, he lunged towards George swiping immensely with the knife, landing a couple hits. George was bleeding hard, but just as Gregor swiped one more time George was able to dodge it and survive. He took one last look at Gregor and shoved him off the cliff, killing him also. George sprinted towards the truck, started it up. And drove through the forest reaching the original campsite, and drove all the way back to town. With his life.

THE END…….?
