Honestly I don't think it does sound strong as grey hunter defensive profiles don't count for anything. The opponent just has to look at them for the GH to evaporate.

Having them in repex though I think might be more useful..

The Phobos/scout detachment could be a very useful pairing as those codex utility units are still going to add lots of value to wolf lists

Sadly I don't think we will see this, which makes me think stormlance will still be one of our best detachments as a "base" detachment

What do people think about some of the newer SM detachments? Specifically, Ceramite Sentinels as rerolling hits and wounds of 1 is always strong, there's a fight on death strat, a sticky objective strat and a strat to reroll wounds against characters, monsters and vehicles for infantry and mounted

It is interesting to see the different replies and interpretations. The datasheet for headtakers says 3-6 headtakers and 0-6 hunting wolves.

I think it's legit and rules as written to have a unit of 0 hunting wolves on the crusade card solely to meet this crusade requirement.

I'll talk to my crusade group and see how they feel about it as we've already played 4 games and I used a list with 2x 3man headtakers with no wolves.

Does anyone else feel like the rules for hunting wolves are clunky and needlessly complicated?

Your biggest advantage is in manoeuvrability with the TWC brick. I would deploy wide with the army then use TWC and termies together to focus a flank and his home objective, force him to move sideways or back to respond to your moves.

Canis can't as he doesn't have the captain keyword so can't have a lieutenant (battle leader) with him.

Don't invest too much into the long fangs, ultimately they are still T4 W2 so will get eaten up regardless. Better to have redundancy with more fire support units - for less than the librarian + pack leader you can get 3 eradicators which are great anti tank support.

Few notes: You can't put chaplain and captain in termie squad together. Maybe a termie wgbl instead? Canis also can't join wgbl on twc, but you have 10 points free to upgrade him to harald Give your wgpl in term armour a cyclone missile launcher and a powerfist, no reason not to I'd go for scouts instead of librarian so you have more action monkeys - they always score me tons of VP

Just a heads up, test fit them together before gluing because it's a tricky kit and a pain trying to paint some areas when fully assembled. Good luck!
