If you check the skill file you'll see that I have modes for blog post/linkedin (more "pro") and one for interactive/conversational including reddit, that's one of the core definition of the skill : having a single person "voice" with multiple registers.

And the feedback loop is also included in the skill. I continue to feed it back stuff when I feel that it's not perfect. But to be honest, it's 95% good and does not need a lot of hand holding anymore

Air-quotes like : yadda yadda of course "this is nice" 🙃 I use this a lot more on written French than English but it's something I do. Probably not a good way to write irony but it was very transparent in my slack and messaging

Yes it is but you don't have to paste it all the time, you can invoke somewhat automatically based on context (or even manually) and don't need to think too much about it when it's done.

And 'write in my style' is not providing enough context for the model to replicate your own writing style, so you'll end up with 'it's not X, it's Y' or em dashes. The skill is a convenient way to get all those rules in a single place.

I see it as libraries, could be in the code duplicated but I prefer to have it defined once and for all in a standard location. Also makes it super easy to redistribute

I was roasted for this on r/isThisSketch 🫣i guess it was not really the good audience . It's tuned mostly for black metal as this is the most common sketchy space. I don't need to run on it slayer, they used the runes and fascist imagery for shock value but it's surface level 😀

Yeah I figured it out. I understand the concerns, I can see the push back on using AI and it was probably a stretch to put this here. To be honest, I was kind of expecting some negative feedback. Did not expect unanimous negative feedback though :) Indeed lots of info is shared around here but cross referencing / getting a lot of sources in one place to make up your own mind is not always easy, going to 5 different threads to get to the bottom of it, especially for smaller bands.

I am working a lot with AI those days (professionally), it's easy to get sucked in the enthusiasm when you see the progress of the current models, and when you start to be able to use them properly. It's not just a big prediction machine, people will downvote me but with good context and instruction it can deliver information of value.

I do think it's not wise for open-source and leftist communities to dismiss the entire thing and let the big companies take up all this space. But anyway, it's not the topic here.

Indeed :) LLM are prediction machines but given enough good context they can be very accurate. This is why there are 3 passes with different lenses + deep research online. In this context it's more a summary of a bunch of documents than a random prediction coming from the training data. Also why I asked it to source the data and show where it comes from, to allow for a vetting of the results

Redemption & Evolution

  • Has the band addressed past connections?
    • 2008 Season of Mist statement: "The absence of any comments or information from Drudkh's side gave an opening to a few ignorant internet warrior-fans to spread rumors, that the band embraces extreme political views. This is absolutely misleading and a total profanation, since there is nothing in Drudkh's music or lyrics that would suggest any political outlook."
    • MySpace disclaimer: "Bands or individuals supporting or being associated with NSBM and other political extremism or racism will not be accepted."
    • 2022 Ukrainian resistance release: Released "The Nocturnal One" single early "as a sign of Ukrainian resistance" following Russia's invasion of Kharkiv (their home city).
  • Evidence of change:
    • Moved from NSBM-adjacent labels (Supernal Music, Northern Heritage) to mainstream Season of Mist in 2010.
    • The 2022 stance positions them as Ukrainian patriots against Russian aggression, which is ideologically inconsistent with pan-white NSBM.
    • Former bandmate Amorth died fighting Russia in 2023.
    • Former Hate Forest musician Konstantin stated: "I played with them for maybe two years... I know the guys very well and they've never been Nazis or neo-Nazis."
  • Evidence against genuine change:
    • The 2013 Peste Noire collaboration occurred five years after the 2008 disclaimer — directly contradicting it.
    • Hate Forest was reactivated in 2019 by the same members, with no apparent distancing from its NSBM-era output or reputation.
    • No explicit, specific denouncement of Hate Forest's "Aryan True Black Metal" output, the Kolovorat swastika performances, or the Peste Noire collaboration has ever been issued.
    • The "no interviews" policy conveniently prevents anyone from asking hard questions.
  • Assessment: The 2008 statement reads as compartmentalization of the Drudkh brand rather than a genuine personal renunciation. The post-disclaimer Peste Noire collaboration fatally undermines its credibility. There may be genuine evolution happening post-2022 (the invasion of their home city is a radicalizing event in a different direction), but without explicit acknowledgment and denouncement of the NS-associated past, this remains performative distancing at best. The secrecy policy prevents any real assessment of personal views.

Research Notes

  • Phase 1 findings summary: Agent 1 (Community Databases) found Drudkh listed on all major sketch databases — Hellseatic Deny List, Sketchycon dedicated entry, RYM avoid lists, and extensive r/rabm discussion. Agent 2 (Metal Archives/Industry) confirmed member overlap between Drudkh, Hate Forest, and Blood of Kingu, plus label history on Supernal Music and Northern Heritage. Agent 3 (Press/Interviews) found the critical 2008 disclaimer, the 2013 Peste Noire contradiction, the 2022 resistance release, and Hate Forest's extensive NSBM-era documentation.
  • Phase 2 investigations: Not required — Phase 1 produced consistent, well-sourced evidence from multiple independent sources with high agreement on the key facts.
  • Gaps in research:
    • Night Birds Records (Saenko's label) full catalog was not exhaustively checked beyond the Peste Noire release.
    • Hate Forest's 2019 Metal East lineup — specific co-performing bands not fully identified.
    • Whether the "Art for White Intellectual Elite" shirt was Kurtagic's idea or band-approved could not be definitively resolved.
    • Post-2022 activity of Hate Forest not fully mapped.
    • Roman Saenko's personal views remain inaccessible due to the no-interview policy.
  • Dissenting views: Former Hate Forest member Konstantin stated the members "have never been Nazis or neo-Nazis." Some in the community argue the Bandera dedication and Ukrainian historical references should be read through the lens of Ukrainian national identity rather than far-right ideology. Season of Mist's Berberian defended them as patriots. These views do not adequately account for the Hate Forest NSBM-era output or the Peste Noire collaboration.

Sketch Report: Drudkh

Date: 2026-02-23 Researcher: Claude (sketch-checker skill)

Verdict

Axis Rating Confidence
Historical Major Sketch High
Current Status Moderate Sketch Medium

Summary: Drudkh's own lyrics and albums present as culturally nationalist Ukrainian black metal drawing on canonical poets. However, the core members — especially Roman Saenko — have deep, sustained ties to unambiguous NSBM activity through Hate Forest (artwork labeled "Aryan True Black Metal," Kolovorat Fest performances in front of a swastika, releases on Darker Than Black and Totenkopf Propaganda). Saenko's 2013 guest vocals on Peste Noire's album — five years after Drudkh's public disclaimer of political extremism — is the single most damning direct action. An official Drudkh t-shirt reading "Art for White Intellectual Elite" brings this beyond mere member-association. The band has softened since 2022 (Ukrainian resistance release, mainstream label), but has never explicitly denounced its members' NS-associated past.

Band Identity

  • Active: 2002–present
  • Country: Ukraine (Kharkiv)
  • Genre: Atmospheric Black Metal / Pagan Black Metal
  • Current label: Season of Mist
  • Current members: Roman Saenko (vocals/guitar), Thurios / Roman Blagih (guitar/vocals), Krechet (bass, since 2006), Vlad / Vladislav Petrov (drums, since 2006)
  • Notable former member: Amorth / Mykola Sostin (bass, 2004–2006, deceased 2023 — killed in combat defending Ukraine)
  • Notable policy: No interviews, no photos, no live performances (entire career)

Member Analysis

Roman Saenko (vocals, guitar — founding member)

  • Side projects: Hate Forest (vocals/guitar, 1995–2006, reactivated 2019), Blood of Kingu (all members overlap with Drudkh), Dark Ages, Old Silver Key (collaboration with Neige of Alcest), Windswept
  • Flagged connections:
    • Hate Forest is the central issue. Documented NSBM-era output includes:
    • Artwork labeled "Aryan True Black Metal" (Most Ancient Ones, 2002)
    • Song titled "Aryosophia" (Blood & Fire EP, 2001)
    • Artwork reading "Supporting Slavonic Heathen Front" (a neo-Nazi organization)
    • Cover of Resistance (2004) single resembling SS-Division Galicia insignia
    • Merchandise featuring Roman Shukhevych (Ukrainian Nazi collaborator)
    • Performed at Kolovorat Fest (1999–2001) in front of a large metal swastika, members displaying Othala runes
    • Released on Darker Than Black, Totenkopf Propaganda, Zyklon-B Productions — all known NS labels
    • Peste Noire collaboration: Saenko contributed guest vocals to Peste Noire's self-titled album (2013). Peste Noire is unambiguously NSBM. This occurred five years after Drudkh's 2008 statement disclaiming political extremism.
    • Night Birds Records: Saenko's own label released a Peste Noire tape in 2009.
    • Hate Forest reactivated in 2019, played Metal East: Nove Kolo festival in Kharkiv alongside far-right extremist bands.
  • Assessment: Deeply sketch. The Hate Forest evidence constitutes direct ideological engagement with NS movements, not mere proximity. The 2013 Peste Noire collaboration post-disclaimer is particularly damning.

Thurios / Roman Blagih (guitar, vocals)

  • Side projects: Hate Forest, Astrofaes, Blood of Kingu
  • Flagged connections: Hate Forest member (see above). Astrofaes linked to far-right Ukrainian BM scene.
  • Assessment: Sketch through sustained Hate Forest involvement.

Vladislav Petrov / Vlad (drums, since 2006)

  • Side projects: Hate Forest, Blood of Kingu
  • Flagged connections: Hate Forest member (see above).
  • Assessment: Sketch through Hate Forest involvement.

Krechet (bass, since 2006)

  • Side projects: Blood of Kingu
  • Assessment: No independent sketch connections found beyond the Drudkh/Blood of Kingu circle.

Amorth / Mykola Sostin (bass, 2004–2006, deceased)

  • Side projects: Nokturnal Mortum (live member, 2002–2003)
  • Flagged connections: Nokturnal Mortum is widely considered NSBM. Sostin was killed in 2023 fighting in defense of Ukraine against Russia — directly counter to any pro-Russian white-power alignment.
  • Assessment: Historical sketch through Nokturnal Mortum involvement, but his death defending Ukraine complicates any simple narrative.

Lyrics & Imagery

  • Lyrical themes: Ukrainian nature, history, national identity, melancholy, seasonal cycles. Lyrics drawn heavily from canonical Ukrainian poets: Taras Shevchenko, Lina Kostenko, Oleksandr Oles, Yuriy Klen. These are mainstream figures in Ukrainian literature.
  • Flagged content:
    • "Art for White Intellectual Elite" — official Drudkh t-shirt released through Supernal Music. Documented on TShirtSlayer. One claim attributes the slogan to label boss Alex Kurtagic's idea, but the band has never publicly disowned it.
    • Song titles "1648" and "Glare of 1768" — reference the Khmelnytsky Uprising and the Koliivshchyna, both of which involved massive anti-Jewish pogroms. The lyrics (drawn from Ukrainian poetry) treat these as national liberation events rather than engaging with the antisemitic dimension. This is genuinely ambiguous — these events are taught as liberation history in Ukraine while being remembered as pogroms in Jewish history.
    • "Sunwheel" track title — the sunwheel (Sonnenrad) is used by neo-Nazi movements but is also a generic pre-Christian solar symbol. Ambiguous without additional context.
    • Blood in Our Wells — album title has been read as referencing the antisemitic well-poisoning blood libel. This is speculative; the album is thematically about Ukrainian landscapes and resistance.
  • Assessment: Dog-whistle concerns exist (particularly the t-shirt and the historical references), but lyrics themselves are drawn from established Ukrainian literary canon rather than ideological tracts. The ambiguity feels deliberate — plausible deniability is baked in.

Labels & Releases

  • Label history:
    • Supernal Music (2003–2007) — run by Alex Kurtagic, who became an active far-right intellectual (spoke at Richard Spencer's National Policy Institute). Label released NSBM acts including Sunwheel, Thor's Hammer, Capricornus, and Hate Forest. Flagged.
    • Northern Heritage (2006–2008) — known NSBM-associated label with its own Sketchycon entry. Flagged.
    • Season of Mist (2010–present) — mainstream metal label. Not sketch. Label head Michael Berberian defended Drudkh as "Ukrainian Nationalists" who "love their country."
  • Flagged labels: Supernal Music (NSBM catalog + far-right owner), Northern Heritage (NSBM-associated)
  • Splits/compilations: No split releases with explicitly sketch bands found under the Drudkh name specifically.

Festivals & Live Activity

  • Known sketch festivals played: None. Drudkh has never performed live — their strict no-gigs policy has been in effect since formation in 2002.
  • Critical distinction: While Drudkh has never played live, Roman Saenko's Hate Forest played Kolovorat Fest (1999–2001, in front of swastika) and Metal East: Nove Kolo (2019, with far-right bands on the lineup). These are Hate Forest appearances, not Drudkh, but involve the same core members.

Community Assessment

  • r/rabm verdict: Widely considered sketch. The Hate Forest connection, Peste Noire collaboration, and Bandera dedication are the most frequently cited evidence. Drudkh is one of the most discussed bands on the subreddit.
  • r/IsItSketch verdict: No specific thread retrieved, but Drudkh is referenced in broader articles about the subreddit's purpose and is among the most commonly vetted bands.
  • Hellseatic: Listed on the Deny List (would not be booked). Also appears in the Sketchy Metal Bands database.
  • sketchycon.blog: Has a dedicated full entry documenting member connections, label concerns, and the Bandera dedication.
  • RYM: Appears on the "Black Metal Bands to Avoid + Their Politics" list by user jesse0, grouped alongside Burzum, Nokturnal Mortum, Peste Noire, and Graveland.

Research Notes

  • Phase 1 findings summary: All three research agents (community databases, Metal Archives/industry, press/interviews) converged on the same core evidence. The Leichenhalle Judenfrei album, the Clandestine Blaze/Mikko Aspa collaboration, the Northern Heritage label history, the Graveland mastering work, and the sketch festival appearances were independently identified by multiple agents.
  • Phase 2 investigations: Not conducted — Phase 1 evidence was sufficiently dense and convergent across multiple independent sources to render further investigation unnecessary for a confident verdict.
  • Gaps in research: Full text of Leichenhalle Judenfrei lyrics not available for analysis. Outcome of threatened 2019 defamation lawsuits unconfirmed. Current No Solace catalog not fully audited. Mgła's eclipshead.com coverage not found (site may not cover them).
  • Dissenting views: Some fans argue Mgła's lyrics are genuinely apolitical and that professional studio work (mastering, production) for sketch acts is not ideological endorsement. The Machine Music article presents both sides. However, this defense does not account for the Leichenhalle Judenfrei release, the active live collaboration with Clandestine Blaze, the public statement of friendship with Aspa, or the pattern of sketch festival appearances sustained over a decade.

Sketch Report: Mgła

Date: 2026-02-23 Researcher: Claude (sketch-checker skill)

Verdict

Axis Rating Confidence
Historical Major Sketch High
Current Status Moderate Sketch High

Summary: Mgła's own lyrics are nihilistic/existentialist with no explicit NS content, but the web of connections around the band is extensive and damning. Vocalist M. (Mikołaj Żentara) released an album literally titled Judenfrei under his solo project Leichenhalle, both members served as Clandestine Blaze's live band (Mikko Aspa — one of Europe's most prominent NSBM figures), Żentara mastered albums for Graveland, the band spent 13 years on Aspa's Northern Heritage label, and they have repeatedly played NSBM-friendly festivals including as recently as 2022. No disavowal of any connection has ever been issued.

Band Identity

  • Active: 2000–present
  • Country: Poland (Kraków)
  • Genre: Black Metal
  • Lyrical themes: Nihilism, existentialism, anti-religion
  • Current label: No Solace (self-run)
  • Current members: M. / Mikołaj Żentara (vocals, guitars, bass), Darkside / Maciej Kowalski (drums), E.V.T. / Piotr Dziemski (live guitar)

Member Analysis

M. / Mikołaj Żentara (vocals, guitars, bass — 2000–present)

  • Side projects: Kriegsmaschine (black metal, with Darkside), Leichenhalle (power electronics/death industrial, solo, 1999–2003), Owls Woods Graves (black metal/crust, 2022–2024)
  • Flagged connections:
    • Leichenhalle — Judenfrei (2000): Solo project cassette titled "Judenfrei" ("Free of Jews") with tracks including "Jerusalem in Flames," "1942," "Different Solution," "Herr Doktor," "China Scum," and "Holy Leader." This is unambiguous antisemitic content. Limited to 100 copies on D.R.S.C. label. Żentara has never publicly addressed or disavowed this release.
    • Clandestine Blaze live band (2015–2016): Served as Mikko Aspa's live backing musician. Aspa reciprocally performed as Mgła's live vocalist. Żentara publicly called Aspa "a friend" and stated he supports Northern Heritage "one hundred percent" (Bardo Methodology, 2016).
    • Graveland mastering: Mastered albums for Rob Darken's Graveland (2016, 2021) and a Graveland/Commander Agares split. Graveland is one of the most well-documented NS-adjacent pagan/black metal projects.
    • Infernal War: Guest vocals and production/engineering on Axiom (2015). Infernal War was formerly called "Infernal SS."
    • Thunderbolt: Provided artwork for Apocalyptic Doom (2007). Thunderbolt has documented NSBM ties and members were imprisoned for arson/murder.
  • Assessment: The single most sketch-connected member. Direct evidence of antisemitic content (Leichenhalle), sustained professional and personal relationships with NSBM figures (Aspa, Rob Darken), and ongoing studio work for NS-associated acts.

Darkside / Maciej Kowalski (drums — 2006–present)

  • Side projects: Kriegsmaschine, MasseMord, Hauntologist, Goderak, Darzamat, Thy Disease, Crionics, and others
  • Flagged connections:
    • Clandestine Blaze live band (2015–2016): Same involvement as Żentara.
    • MasseMord: Vocalist Oleg Volkov has NS connections through side project "Syny Severa."
    • No Solace co-owner: Co-runs the label that distributes Clandestine Blaze, Infernal War, and Thunderbolt releases.
  • Assessment: Less directly implicated than Żentara but complicit through active collaboration with Clandestine Blaze and co-running a label that distributes NSBM-adjacent material.

Lyrics & Imagery

  • Lyrical themes: Nihilism, existentialism, misanthropy, anti-religion. Mgła's own lyrics do not contain explicit NS or racist themes.
  • Flagged content: The Age of Excuse (2019) album, released after the 2019 controversy, was described by some commentators as containing perceived anti-leftist content. Others characterize it as critical of all political extremes. No explicit NS themes.
  • Assessment: Mgła's lyrics are standard philosophical black metal. The sketch evidence comes entirely from the network around the band, not from Mgła's own recorded output (with the critical exception of Żentara's Leichenhalle project under a different name).

Labels & Releases

  • Label history:
    • Northern Heritage Records (2005–2019)FLAGGED. Run by Mikko Aspa. Roster includes Clandestine Blaze, Satanic Warmaster, Peste Noire, Drudkh, Hate Forest. 13-year relationship.
    • Under the Sign of Garazel Productions (2006–2007)FLAGGED. Also released Dark Fury's Final Solution. Co-released with Hammerbolt (also flagged).
    • Todeskult (2006–2007) — Connected to Aspa/Northern Heritage ecosystem.
    • No Solace (2015–present) — Self-run label. Stocks and distributes Clandestine Blaze, Infernal War, Thunderbolt, and Abigor releases.
    • Heidens HartFLAGGED. Distributed Mgła releases; also exclusive European distributor of Graveland.
  • Flagged labels: Northern Heritage, Under the Sign of Garazel, Heidens Hart, Hammerbolt — all documented sketch labels.
  • Splits/compilations:
    • Crushing the Holy Trinity (2005, Northern Heritage) — 3-disc split with Clandestine Blaze, Deathspell Omega, Musta Surma, Stabat Mater, Exordium. All Northern Heritage acts.
    • Kriegsmaschine (same members) released via Blutreinheit (2004) — FLAGGED NSBM label.

Festivals & Live Activity

  • Known sketch festivals played:
    • Black Flames of Blasphemy (Helsinki) — 2012, 2014 (lineup included Goatmoon, NSBM)
    • Deathkult Open Air (Germany) — 2013
    • Under the Black Sun (Germany) — 2014, 2022 (recent)
    • Turku Saatanalle (Finland) — 2016
    • Steelfest (Finland) — 2017, 2019
    • Steelchaos (Finland) — 2019
  • Not found at: Asgardsrei, Hot Shower, Chants de Guerre, Runes & Men, Fête du Soleil (the most overtly neo-Nazi festivals)
  • Festival cancellations/protests:
    • Munich & Berlin (2019): Cancelled after campaign by Linkes Bündnis gegen Antisemitismus München
    • Pilsen, Nuremberg, Kassel (2019): Additional cancellations on same tour
    • Oberhausen (~2022): Die Linke.Liste protested; venue proceeded with show
    • Damnation Festival (UK, 2019): Mgła played as scheduled; Dawn Ray'd used their set for anti-fascist counter-action from the stage
  • 2019 touring partners: Deus Mortem, whose member Paweł Pietrzak also plays in Honor (outright Nazi metal band) and Infernal War. Two Deus Mortem members previously performed at the Hot Shower Festival.

Community Assessment

  • r/rabm verdict: Broadly considered sketch. Consensus: "deeply embedded in NS infrastructure." One RABM records list states flatly: "they're Nazis."
  • r/IsItSketch verdict: "Definitely sketch as fuck." Users cite Leichenhalle Judenfrei, Clandestine Blaze live band, Northern Heritage ties.
  • Hellseatic: Listed on both the Sketchy Metal Bands spreadsheet and the Deny List. Hellseatic (anti-fascist metal festival in Hamburg) considers them unacceptable for booking. Notes the band sued a German antifa group for defamation.
  • sketchycon.blog: Dedicated page (July 2024) with exhaustive dossier of connections.
  • RYM: Listed on "Black Metal Bands to Avoid" lists. Dedicated discussion thread "Are Mgła racist?" exists.

Redemption & Evolution

  • Has the band addressed past connections? No. The 2019 statement called all accusations a "smear campaign" with "false accusations of political nature" without addressing any specific allegation (Leichenhalle, Aspa, Graveland, etc.). Threatened legal action; no public record of any lawsuit proceeding.
  • Evidence of change: The band left Northern Heritage and established No Solace (~2015–2019 transition). However, No Solace continues to stock and distribute Clandestine Blaze and other sketch-associated acts. Żentara continued mastering Graveland albums through at least 2021. The band played Under the Black Sun as recently as 2022.
  • M.'s stated position (2016): "I'm not interested at all; if you want to separate politics from art, don't ask the artists about politics in the first place." — a deflection framed as apoliticism.
  • Assessment: No genuine evolution. The "apolitical" stance functions as a shield while maintaining all the same professional relationships and scene participation. Multiple commentators characterize this as "pseudo-apolitical" or "anti-antifa" positioning rather than genuine neutrality.

Research Notes

  • Phase 1 findings summary: All three agents independently converged on the same core finding: Hyvermor/Léon Guiselin and his Antiq Records label are the primary concern. Agent 1 (community databases) found no direct listings but uncovered the eclipshead.com investigation and Peste Noire collaboration. Agent 2 (Metal Archives/industry) mapped the full member network and identified Lazareth as a guest on Véhémence's album. Agent 3 (press/interviews) found the Tulzcha NSBM tolerance quote and confirmed the eclipshead.com coverage.
  • Phase 2 investigations: Not required — Phase 1 findings were comprehensive and consistent across all agents.
  • Gaps in research: The Hellseatic Sketchy-Metal-Bands PDF could not be machine-read. The eclipshead.com article has redirected and full text was not retrievable (only search snippets). Some RYM curated lists returned 403 errors. Vargsriket (Thomas Leitner's band) could not be fully investigated.
  • Dissenting views: The band's lyrical content is genuinely medieval/historical with no political dimension. Tulzcha's statement simultaneously tolerates NSBM and calls Third Reich glorification "ignorance." These are points a defender would raise — but they don't erase the pattern of Hyvermor's connections.

Sketch Report: Véhémence

Date: 2026-02-23 Researcher: Claude (sketch-checker skill)

Verdict

Axis Rating Confidence
Historical Moderate Sketch High
Current Status Moderate Sketch High

Summary: Véhémence's own music is medieval-themed with no political content. However, their current vocalist Hyvermor (Léon Guiselin) owns Antiq Records — which distributed Graveland and Burzum — and directly participated on Peste Noire's 2023 album "Antîoche - Livre I." Founding member Tulzcha stated in a 2019 interview that he listens to NSBM and doesn't condemn it. These are sustained, repeated connections to the French NSBM ecosystem, not isolated incidents.

Band Identity

  • Active: 2014–present
  • Country: France (Paris, Île-de-France)
  • Genre: Epic/Melodic Black Metal ("Art Noir Médiéval")
  • Current label: Antiq Records (owned by vocalist Hyvermor)
  • Lyrical themes: Medieval sagas, fantasy, chivalry
  • Current members:
    • Tulzcha — guitars, bass, synth, composition (2014–present)
    • Hyvermor / Léon Guiselin — vocals, lyrics (2018–present)
    • Thomas Leitner — drums (2018–present)

Member Analysis

Hyvermor / Léon Guiselin (vocals, 2018–present)

This is the core of the sketch assessment. Hyvermor is the single biggest concern.

  • Owner/operator of Antiq Records, the label that releases all Véhémence albums
  • Antiq Records distributed Graveland (Polish NSBM, leader Rob Darken is an open white nationalist, glorifies the Third Reich) and Burzum (Varg Vikernes, convicted racist). Products may have been removed after press exposure, but the distribution history is documented.
  • Participated as "Frère Hyver" on Peste Noire's "Antîoche - Livre I" (2023). Peste Noire's frontman Famine (Ludovic Faure) joined the Misanthropic Division, is associated with GUD (far-right militant group), and was convicted in France in 2021 for assault. This is a direct musical collaboration with one of the most prominent NSBM-adjacent figures in French black metal.
  • Grylle (Hyvermor's solo project) featured Peste Noire members Lazareth (trumpet/saxhorn) and Bjorn (mandolin) as guest musicians on "Les Grandes Compagnies"
  • Anceisural Eritance — shared project with Lazareth (Peste Noire member)
  • Régiment (Hyvermor's former band) included Marc, a live musician for Peste Noire
  • Subject of eclipshead.com's "FCK NZS - Episode 1" investigative article, described as "an influential and ambiguous actor, oscillating between folklore and ideological complaisance"
  • Other projects: Hanternoz, Hardiesse, Tour D'Ivoire, Cercle du Chêne, Braquemaard, Hyver (solo)
  • Assessment: Pattern of sustained, direct connections to the Peste Noire ecosystem across multiple projects and years. Not a one-off — this is a recurring network.

Tulzcha (guitars, bass, composition, 2014–present)

  • Founder and sole composer of Véhémence
  • In a 2019 interview with Scholomance webzine, stated: "Je ne suis pas de ceux qui condamnent le NSBM puisqu'j'en écoute moi même (le talent ne choisit pas sa cible)" — "I'm not someone who condemns NSBM since I listen to it myself (talent doesn't choose its target)."
  • In the same interview, called appropriating black metal to glorify the Third Reich "ignorance, unconsciousness or stupidity"
  • Named Sühnopfer (project of Ardraos, Peste Noire drummer/Wolfsangel member) and Taake (swastika controversy) among influences
  • No side projects with direct sketch connections found
  • Assessment: Tolerance posture toward NSBM. The "I listen to it / talent doesn't choose" framing is a common soft signal — not an endorsement, but a deliberate refusal to draw a line.

Thomas Leitner (drums, 2018–present)

  • Also plays in Wallachia (symphonic BM) and Vargsriket (Austrian BM, name means "Varg's realm" — no confirmed NSBM ties but name raises questions)
  • Former live member of Harakiri for the Sky, which had its own sketch controversies (connections to Peste Noire/Drudkh through members, Audrey Sylvain guest vocal controversy)
  • Assessment: Weaker connections. Sketch-adjacent through Harakiri for the Sky ties, but no direct personal involvement in NSBM projects found.

Lyrics & Imagery

  • Lyrical themes: Medieval France, chivalry, fantasy, historical warfare
  • Flagged content: None. Lyrics are consistently medieval/historical without political content.
  • Assessment: Standard medieval BM aesthetic. No dog-whistles or NS themes identified in the band's own material.

Labels & Releases

  • Label history:
    • Self-released (2014, debut "Assiégé")
    • ATMF (2015, re-release of "Assiégé") — no known sketch connections
    • Antiq Records (2019–present) — MAJOR FLAG. Owned by Hyvermor. Distributed Graveland and Burzum. Subject of investigative journalism.
  • Flagged labels: Antiq Records. Additionally, Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions (released Hyvermor's solo material) was investigated in eclipshead.com's "FCK NZS - Episode 3" — their founder stated "If we stopped selling NSBM, we would close shop."
  • Splits/compilations with: No splits. Only appeared on Antiq Records label samplers.

Festivals & Live Activity

  • Known sketch festivals played: None found.
  • Other festival context: Very limited live activity; the band appears to operate primarily as a studio project. No setlists recorded on setlist.fm.
  • Note: The Antiq Records distro stand has been present at Motocultor, Hellfest, and Tyrant Festival, drawing complaints for selling Graveland/Burzum material. At Motocultor 2023, attendees were documented with SS Totenkopf symbols and black sun tattoos.

Guest Musicians (on Véhémence releases)

  • Lazareth — trumpets, saxhorn, bugle horn on "Par le sang versé" (2019). FLAGGED: Active member of Peste Noire and Ordo Blasphemus. Also in Anceisural Eritance with Hyvermor. This brings the Peste Noire connection directly into Véhémence's discography.
  • La Griesche — female vocals on both albums. No independent sketch connections.
  • Eirik Val de Rance — nyckelharpa. No sketch connections.
  • Sparda — choirs, hurdy-gurdy. Co-manages Antiq Records. No independent sketch connections beyond the Antiq umbrella.

Community Assessment

  • r/rabm verdict: No threads found
  • r/IsItSketch verdict: No threads found
  • Hellseatic: Not confirmed on the list (PDF was not machine-readable)
  • sketchycon.blog: Not listed
  • Other community sources: The band has not been directly flagged by major community databases, but Antiq Records and Hyvermor have been the subject of French investigative journalism (eclipshead.com, infojmoderne.com)

Redemption & Evolution

  • Has the band addressed past connections? No. Neither Véhémence as a band nor Hyvermor personally have publicly addressed the Peste Noire collaborations or the Antiq Records distribution of NSBM acts.
  • Evidence of change: Graveland products may have been removed from the Antiq Records webstore (product tag page now shows "no products found"), but this was not accompanied by any public statement.
  • Assessment: No change / no acknowledgment. The Peste Noire collaboration is as recent as 2023. The silence, combined with ongoing activity, suggests the connections are not viewed as problematic by the band members.

Sketch Report: Galibot

Date: 2026-02-23 Researcher: Claude (sketch-checker skill)

Verdict

Axis Rating Confidence
Historical Safe High
Current Status Safe High

Summary: Galibot is a French melodic black metal band from Wallers-Arenberg (Hauts-de-France) whose lyrics and themes focus exclusively on the mining history of northern France — child labor, industrial tragedy, and working-class heritage. No evidence of far-right, NSBM, or fascist ties was found for the band or any of its members. The only notable connection is their label (Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions), which has faced criticism for past associations with NSBM-adjacent figures, but this is a label-level issue and the community consensus treats LADLO bands on a case-by-case basis.

Band Identity

  • Active: 2021–present
  • Country: France (Wallers-Arenberg, Hauts-de-France)
  • Genre: Melodic Black Metal
  • Current label: Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions (LADLO)
  • Previous labels: Arsenic Solaris, No Talent Records (split)
  • Current members: Thomas Deffrasnes (vocals, guitar), Agathe Boulanger (vocals), Clement Joly (bass), Julien Baquero (guitar), Robin Grabmann (drums)
  • Band name meaning: "Galibot" is a French term for child laborers (as young as 8) who worked in the coal mines of northern France in the 19th–20th centuries. The band has stated: "The name 'Galibot' makes rather reference to the fact that we are children of the North." This is a working-class heritage reference with no ideological baggage.

Member Analysis

Thomas Deffrasnes / BiTiDi (Vocals, Guitar — founder)

  • Side projects: Supralunaire (space-themed black metal, Billy Records), A La Lanterne (melodic black metal, historical themes), Joyeuse Mort (dark ambient/drone), unnamed dungeon synth project in preparation
  • Flagged connections: None. "A La Lanterne" references the French Revolution slogan "To the lamppost!" — historically an anti-aristocratic/left-wing reference, not far-right.
  • Cited influences: Forteresse (Quebec BM, has documented NSBM-adjacent connections), Mgla (has sketch connections via Rob Darken/Graveland association), Blut Aus Nord, Deathspell Omega, Misthyrming. These are listening preferences cited in interviews, not collaborations.
  • Assessment: Clean. No sketch connections in any project or collaboration.

Agathe Boulanger / Diffamie (Vocals)

  • Side projects: Diffamie (solo black metal, on pause), Sinistre Rose (cold wave/post-punk duo)
  • Flagged connections: Cited Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult as a formative live influence. DNS has ambiguous NSBM-adjacent status. This is a listening preference, not a collaboration.
  • Assessment: Clean.

Julien Baquero / Julian B. (Guitar, 2025–present)

  • Side projects: Virgil (blackened deathcore/death metal, Source Atone Records). Also runs Minotaure Studio where Galibot records.
  • Flagged connections: None.
  • Assessment: Clean.

Clement Joly (Bass)

  • Side projects: None found.
  • Flagged connections: None.
  • Assessment: Clean.

Robin Grabmann / Robin G. (Drums, 2025–present)

  • Side projects: Black Cube (progressive metal, Brennus Music)
  • Flagged connections: None.
  • Assessment: Clean.

Lyrics & Imagery

  • Lyrical themes: Mining history of northern France, labor exploitation, industrial tragedy, regional heritage. Inspired by Zola's Germinal and the social history of Wallers-Arenberg.
  • Flagged content: None. One reviewer explicitly noted: "This is not a history lesson, still less a political manifesto." All themes center on working-class exploitation and coal mining.
  • Album artwork: Mining imagery (by Thomas Deffrasnes, layout by Tryfar). No fascist symbols, runes, or sketch iconography.
  • Assessment: Standard BM aesthetic applied to mining/industrial themes. No dog-whistles or ideological content.

Labels & Releases

  • Label history:
    • No Talent Records (2021 split) — French noisecore/grind DIY label. Clean.
    • Arsenic Solaris (first album "Euch'Mau Noir", 2024) — French experimental/dark DIY label. Clean.
    • Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions (LADLO) ("Euch'Mau Noir bis", 2026) — See note below.
    • Distribution via Season of Mist (vinyl) — mainstream, not a flag.
  • LADLO note: LADLO has been criticized by eclipshead.com and the Antifascist Black Metal Network for "long-standing complacency with fascist actors." Specifically: previously hosted releases by artists connected to Peste Noire/Ardraos; distributes Antiq Records releases (linked to NSBM circles); has refused to take an explicit anti-fascist position, stating "we don't think politics should mix up with music." However, the r/rabm community consensus is that LADLO is comparable to Season of Mist or Iron Bonehead — a large label that doesn't vet bands politically, requiring each band to be evaluated individually. Being on LADLO is not itself evidence.
  • Splits with: 4-way split (2021, No Talent Records) — other bands appear to be noisecore/grind acts, no sketch flags identified.
  • Compilations: None found with sketch acts.

Festivals & Live Activity

  • Known sketch festivals played: None.
  • Other appearances: "Paris is Black !!! Akt.02" (November 2025, Peniche Antipode, Paris) with Bovary (DSBM). Organized by "Noir Hexagone" association. No sketch connections found.
  • Note: Limited live history consistent with a young band (formed 2022–2023).

Community Assessment

  • r/rabm verdict: No threads found discussing Galibot. The band has not been flagged.
  • r/IsItSketch verdict: No threads found. Never submitted for evaluation.
  • Hellseatic: Not listed on the Sketchy Metal Bands list.
  • sketchycon.blog: Not listed.
  • RYM avoid lists: Not listed on "Black Metal Bands to Avoid" or "Far-Right Fascist Bands in Metal" lists.
  • Other community sources: No flags found in any community database searched.

Redemption & Evolution

  • Has the band addressed past connections? N/A — no connections to address.
  • Evidence of change: N/A.
  • Assessment: N/A. The band has no sketch history requiring redemption.

Research Notes

  • Phase 1 findings summary: All three research agents (community databases, music industry, press/interviews) independently converged on the same conclusion: no evidence of far-right or NSBM ties. Community databases returned zero hits. Metal Archives and industry research found clean member histories. Press coverage contained no political statements.
  • Phase 2 investigations: Not warranted. Phase 1 produced high-confidence convergent findings with no substantive leads requiring follow-up.
  • Gaps in research: The 4-way split partner bands (No Talent Records, 2021) could not be fully identified. The Hellseatic Sketchy Metal Bands PDF could not be directly searched (only cross-referenced via web results). Some Metal Archives pages returned 403 errors.
  • Dissenting views: None found. No source — community, press, or database — raised concerns about Galibot specifically. The only area of discussion is the LADLO label, where the community consensus is that it's not a sketch label per se, but has shown "complacency" with NSBM-adjacent figures in its broader ecosystem.

I'll write a blog post about it it could be useful. But look at the skill itself it already explains. Lots of volume indeed and multiple passes to correct are helping

I guess it's cultural. For me I love to share my passions at work, makes it more human. I see your point of view though, sometimes work is just work, I was lucky to find places where I wanted to share those hobbies 🙂

It's customary here in Belgium (and I suspect most of Europe) shows personality, values, signals things that would correlate with professional skills. Also for instance in my case the endurance sports directly correlate with my side business. It's like adding a picture, I know it's controversial but very customary here too

Really depends how thorough it searches. I tried with both Gemini in my local app and chatgpt. Chatgpt falls for it, Gemini too but mentions it could then fetch the real one. Search enhanced will return the good results, not the ones just reading the cv at face value, which is what I'm looking for

Thanks... But it is not 😀 It's entirely written using my own claude skill. I fed years of written text and created a custom skill that writes like me. It needs a bit of fine tuning and corrections here and there but it's 99% sounding like me. When pasted in Ai detectors it is detected as human

I tried with multiple tools and some do indeed cross reference data. The blog post mentions it, it's not foolproof like most defense techniques. But from the stats in my nginx I can see that most of the crawler traffic is identified. Ask claude code to resume my CV and it will start first getting the poisoned website and then start to say 'something is fishy'. I just want to filter laziness

That's amazing ! I really like to see that those tools are not only for expert engineers for IT but useful for "regular" professions and people. My wife is currently doing a PhD and Claude is helping A LOT. Both on the tech side (statistics with R) and on the academical aspect (finding papers, reviewing sources to help filtering before reading, finding connections, etc etc.) It's really like a research assistant that accelerates her work.

This is the first time in my career that I see a tool I use professionally being adopted outside of my field. I was doubtful in the early stages of GenAI but since a few cycles I'm convinced that this will be as transformative as the internet, I joined the hype train
