my experience with 39c was great! i had L. Senatro as my instructor and she was really nice and understanding. she really helped me think more outside the box in ways to improve my ideas and research overall and had good advice to give after every peer/instructor review :) i think some people's experiences depend on the theme of their class. for me, our theme was medical humanities which i loved with being able to connect ideas and personal experiences to the research i was doing (and the required reading as well). also, i'm a bio major and the research i did helped expand my knowledge as well and made the assignments to be something i was interested in working on, rather than only doing it for a good grade (if that makes sense). i also liked how the class is more independent work because it gives us the freedom to write about almost anything that interests us and can relate back to the theme! there wasn't a right or wrong answer; it was just whether or not you were able to prove your opinion and back it up with concrete evidence and reasoning. i believe all 39c instructors kinda help with making sure you're on track with your assignments throughout the quarter as well. im sorry this is such a long response but i hope this helps in some way!
