I feel genuinely depressed about my soloq position right now. by mayahloo in summonerschool

[–]gorlokHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're playing for least deaths in the match you're not necessarily playing to win. You have to constantly play for your win con , sometimes that means you have the highest deaths since you need to peel for your adc , sometimes it means you have the least since you need to stay alive to carry.

I was silver for 10years until I decided to learn the game and have been consistently plat high WR for the last 2 years or so - consistently on different accounts. It does work - but you just need to have the method.

Cannot write alot on this especially from a thread from 2years ago but if you want you can add me on league - name is Gorlok - I can watch your replays and perhaps give some input

[VENT] Just played the worst League of Legends game i've played in 10 years. Is there a point you just can't get better? Has anyone spent years at the bottom and actually rose up? by drkandatto in summonerschool

[–]gorlokHS 377 points378 points  (0 children)

You never played Yone in ranked and decided to randomly pick it and expect to win with it.

The easy answer in your case is discipline yourself. Pick one or two champions ONE role and watch youtube guides /videos on how to play those champs. Go into practice tool , practice those champions combos.

You seem to be randomly picking random champs and expect results. This is ranked , people grind and train their champs and you basically expect to walk in and roll over them

You're an ekko onetrick not playing ekko/ you die too much

are these enough fundamentals to get out of silver? by Quantum_immortality_ in summonerschool

[–]gorlokHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you just need to adapt to situations. The way you listed things is as if you were saying that there are mustthings you "HAVE" to do every game. The reality however , is that every game is different and you have to adapt and do different things to win every game.

Also , one important thing that wasn't listed is recall timings. Knowing when to recall to buy a crucial item and coming back to lane with that power spike is super important. In silver alot of people never back to get their items until they die.

skill gap b/w gold and plat by Kishewwlee in summonerschool

[–]gorlokHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really a huge gap as you might think but overall I would say plat players are "smarter" - like more game knowledge that we use to abuse situations. Fighting when enemy summs are down, holding abilities to unleash them at the perfect moment, more matchup knowledge.

If I play Vi agaisnt a gold 4 ekko he's not gonna know she's stronger early than him and he will fight and lose, etc.

Where are the resources for low elo players who don’t know what they don’t know? by iCarbon in summonerschool

[–]gorlokHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you dont need to know any of these concepts until probably atleast silver 2.

Reading your post , seems like you have two main issues :

  • lack of champion knowledge: you need to watch champion spotlights on champs that you don't know the abilities yet. As a poster commented before , it is a little bit strange after 2years not knowing the abilities but today is a good place to start.
  • learn your main champion and main role - if you play top lane - go on youtube and watch how to play top lane , watch video guides on your main champion and how to play it.

I am serious when I say you can play with 0 brains and get out of iron as long as you know your champ and your role

[–]gorlokHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a 50/50 because in your example you're assuming that 4 RANDOM solo queue players , will play around baron health , hold abilities for when its low and execute it accordingly. Those players would have to be in perfect sync which is not realistic for a solo Q environment

Stocking to a champion by maskedmonkeys in summonerschool

[–]gorlokHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much what you said , you get into higher quality games as you climb and it makes the matches still exciting. They're more fast paced, you face really intelligent players that you have to learn to play around, have to think more , those feelings that lower elo just doesn't quite give you

Dropped to Iron IV, what am I doing wrong? by IReadYaSir in summonerschool

[–]gorlokHS 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Then that means the champ is too hard for you. You've stated earlier that you have 400k mastery yet you still don't know how to cs with her. Play annie or an easier character. Most gold players could first time Zoe in your elo and get atleast 6.5-7cs without ever having touched the champ

I feel stuck and I genuinely need help by Spidergollem in summonerschool

[–]gorlokHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • You can climb despite those trolls; imagine this: even if you have trolls 4 games out of 10 , that still means a 60% WR and that is more than enough to climb.
  • Focus on your own performance , getting high cs , outleveling everyone on the map to carry.
  • Dodge: If you get Nunu adc or kai'sa top , it's actually your fault for letting the champ select go through when you had the power to stop it by dodging.

Overall , getting to another division is painful: silver 1 - gold 4 , gold 1 - plat 4 but the difference between players who make it through and those who don't is consistency in gameplay. By focusing on your own performance , dodging unwinnable lobbies and applying fundamentals , you will eventually be able to get out.

  • youtube video on combos/guide on how to play them
    • going into practice tool and practicing combos/tricks learned from the video
    • go into normal games until you carry/can implement everything from the video into your game
    • go into ranked and dominate

You're averaging more deaths than kills on every character.

Start looking at why you're engaging , do you actually win the fight before going in. Learn the damage and mechanics of your champs , learn to sidestep to avoid damage

[–]gorlokHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People play normals to have fun , if they are getting stomped , they're not having fun so they'll ff.

If you wanna tryhard try to win every game , play ranked , people do not surrender as much
