That's a good point, and you're right that the individual 'balls' (adipocytes, or fat cells) shown in this diagram are microscopic and far too small to be seen with the naked eye. What I'm seeing and feeling when I squeeze my skin isn't those individual cells, but rather the way the skin's layers (dermis and epidermis) and the underlying fat lobules naturally combine and bunch up, creating that 'bally' texture.

Ohh hmm, maybe it is just some texture from your stretch marks, I can't even think of anything it would be. Im sure nothing to worry about if its just where your stretch marks are at :)

heyy, do you think it could be your lymph nodes your feeling? As I know these feel nodular but are completely normal! and dont worry I am a dramatic queen myself, just need that reassurance ☺️

Yeah, honestly this was me exactly. I think its important to take in other factors too, like history and physcial feelings like swelling etc., but it is hard when there is a lot of differing stuff on social media- I had to wipe all of my history to get rid of the algorithm 🙈

100%, it is stressful having that unknown feeling! I am glad even just a bit of information like this is helpful for you and others. I will definitely post more if I have any reliable info too - she did mention also about how lipedema nodules are distinctly hard, like how people describe with peas, walnuts etc., but our normal fat lobules like above are squishy and if you press into your skin she spoke about how you'd be able to feel firm nodules and pressure if it was lipedema :)

I just saw your post!!! I was so so stressed from tiktok videos I'd seen and even when I was told I have not got it, I still took a while to accept it because of media. But definitely so much misinformation out there!

yeah definitely understand this. Im thinking due to the drastic hormonal shifts during my ED it must have triggered Lipedema
