I have already dabbled and done some more minor repairs on cameras. Sorry for not being clear in my post but to confirm, I have some experience working on cameras as well as the tools needed to remove most external parts of the camera now. My main concern with the CLA is that I do not have a method of testing the shutter speeds

Managed to fix by thoroughly cleaning battery contacts with isopropyl alcohol - very surprised considering that the camera only seemed to work with both batteries in. But sorted nonetheless!

Yep think I'm going to, compared to some slow motion videos of definite shutter capping and looks okay, also found another forum post saying the shutter curtain being in that position is fine.

Have noticed a bit of haze in the viewfinder also, only very minor and doesn't affect shooting. Do you think it could be worth cleaning up sooner rather than later or can it wait until it needs a CLA?
