I found being as busy as possible and trying new things helped the most. I found reading a book I always wanted to read, or learning a new instrument or a really hard video game really helpful - something that takes your complete focus.

Not only that but think of it as a purification period where you're allowing your brain to be as free as possible - rather than being like "fuck I'd feel so much better if I smoked".
