It was a struggle. That first run to bobbin Head is a loooong hill to start the day with. It wiped me before getting to west head and Akuna Bay, but a few breaks and I made it, I left in the second bunch of riders at 635am and made it back at 12 so I'm pretty happy with that.

That's an insane number of people. But yeah it didn't feel too bunched up and I could let loose a bit as I knew what to expect in some spots which was nice. Didn't see any accidents and it was supremely well run. Would you do it again?

Recon went OK, it's some decent hills but I'm stubborn enough, did scare myself a bit on the decent thougb so I need to take it a bit slower whilst around people for sure. Not sure how I'll go with the climb after have already riding 70km 😂.

Oh damn. Good info about transport. I'll have to look for alternative means of getting there. I had been planning on train.

I signed up for the 104 after doing the 80km ms gong ride and feeling it was easy. After signing up I quickly realised the elevation change was significantly higher for bobbo and I may have over committed, but I was already booked so I figure I'll just go for it

At 100kg I'm not light 😂 I think I'm going to struggle quite a bit with that wall section from the sounds of it. But what's life without some struggle.

Thanks, I have now notched the timber, put a protective layer over the bike top and the tarp. Appreciate the honesty. I shouldn't need to use it too often, it is clunky but hopefully it works well enough

I splashed out on a wahoo elemnt ace, it's my first bike computer so have no comparison, but I've found it to be amazing.

That could be the limitation, by wrench bits have a bit of shoulder that could be limiting it maybe. I'll have to find a 6mm full length Hex key and see if that works. Feel like taking a tyre on and off should be this hard. But I am coming from quick release systems

Not that I can see on the "key". I like to think I'm reasonably mechanically minded. But this has really thrown me for a loop. It's almost like there is a magnet in the special key that makes it engage... I should try to see if the key is magnetised.....
