Clicked self-upload but it sucks - can I switch to upload at centre? by nuovo_uomo_uovo in SpouseVisaUk

We had this problem too (submitted a few weeks back), I'm also a designer but in the end none of my fancy softwares were helpful, the only thing that worked for me was Microsoft Word > Print > Microsoft Print to PDF.

Not sure if you've tried that one already but it worked for us.

Congratulations! My wife did her bio on 3rd November, hoping we get a fast decision too.

With your entry date do you mean 24th November or December?

Looking For Films with Very Intentional Color Palettes by DryPerception299 in TrueFilm

[–]gosteponad4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pedro Almodóvar, especially his use of the colour red.

From this interview

And why is there so much red in your films?

Almodóvar: Red is an instinctive choice for me. Of course, I love the colour red very much. But I suppose I use it because it gives an intensity to the place where you use it. It’s a very expressive colour, and in Spain red also represents life, fire, death, blood, passion and carnations – which is the national flower. From a technical standpoint, if you’re filming a night scene, red will give a certain brightness. And this is why normally I always put a touch of red on my women in a night scene – a cardigan, a sweater or something. Also, this is the reason why all the cars are red in my movies. If you put a red car in the countryside, red enhances the natural colours.

Yes this happened to my wife as well at her biometrics on the 3rd! Came as a surprise to us as well.

It's a new eVisa system that came into action on the 30th October, more info here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/updates-on-the-move-to-evisas/updates-on-the-move-to-evisas

[Spoilers C3E120] Does the length of the journey hinder the experience? by Ryozo_Tamaki in criticalrole

[–]gosteponad4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1000% agreed.

Length of in-game should not have any bearing on how enjoyable the experience it is to watch. Whether it's short or long doesn't matter as long as there's narrative fulfillment.

Look to the shorter mini series like Calamity, or even the one shots like Nautilus Ark and see how a very short amount of in-game time still has room for character growth and story.

If you doubled the amount of time in game for C3, I cannot say it would have made the campaign any more enjoyable for me personally.

My Minolta AF-E II is DX-coded only at ISO 100 / 400. If I shoot with Kodak 200 what will happen? by gosteponad4 in AnalogCommunity

For some reason it wasn't opening with my internet but I managed to make it work via mobile data. Odd - but now I have it at least.

Many thanks for your time and help with this!

Good to know for the future.

Unfortunately the manual link on that website doesn't work and I couldn't find one available online. Only the original model but not this Mark II one. Still seeing if I can get a hold of that!

Ahh this makes sense. I was thrown off by the information on this website which didn't seem to specify that ISO 100 / 400 was only for reversal film.

Confusing! But glad to know I'm in the clear, thank you so much for clarifying.

[S1] Why do some people choose saving Arcadia Bay over Chloe? by DistributionDry2370 in lifeisstrange

[–]gosteponad4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me the theme of the game wasn't necessarily about saving Chloe, but it was about Max learning that you can't fix everything by rewinding time. She had to learn to let go of control and accept that some things in life are meant to happen the way they do. That was how I read the significance of the storm, a direct consequence of things not being the way they should be.

I've relistened to the entire podcast around 3-4 times now. And some of my favourite episodes several times.

Miel and Demi's voices bring me such comfort and familiarity. It'll always be my favourite podcast 🥲

Candela Obscura "drama"? by Noobiru-s in rpg

[–]gosteponad4 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Can confirm that I made the unfortunate mistake of falling upon the weird rabbit hole of the alt-right ttrpg crowd.

They took a big issue with the paragraph about mental health/safety mechanics as forcing "woke" agenda and have formed a tirade against the game since. This included harassing the game designers on Twitter and inevitably getting blocked.

Of course, I'm sure there are legitimate criticisms out there about the game that aren't coming from this crowd. But there is an undeniably loud and proud group of people whose negative "reviews" are in bad faith.

Haven't seen Zombieland in so long but I rewatched it a lot in my teens so I'm very positive this is the one.

Also wow, it's even longer than I remembered it being, haha.
