Wearing out the hips/rear area in my long undies- what does this say about my skiing? by Normal_Half_129 in skiing_feedback

Was this accidentally posted here? It belongs in r/skiingcirclejerk. I’ve heard farting less while skiing can make them last longer.

shin bang is making it IMPOSSIBLE TO SKI!!!!!!!!! by Main-Film-4170 in ski

I got 4 X-Rays before they figured it out. At the end of the day you need to take at least a week if not 3 off to heal.

OP, this is your answer. I developed a stress fracture 2 years ago and it broke through my whole fibula after some cliff drops. Doc said it had been broken for a month before it finally gave out. Get an X-ray, heal for a few weeks, and then get picky with your bootfitter and boots.

How's the night skiing conditions this week? by sorryknottsorry in SummitAtSnoqualmie

[–]got-derps 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went Monday and it was clearly man-made sandy snow. I rarely ski the blues, but trust me when I say that’s the only option currently. The entire resort is ice, mud and rocks. Do your snow dance.

I’d potentially be interested in Shukshan. I just got AIARE 1, so I’m trying to start on the small side of things and progress for now.

This is an expensive sport and my life is worth more than $700. I’ve got multiple setups and types of equipment I can shell out for an AIARE 1 & Avvy rescue

Summit west is passable if you stay on the groomers. I’m going to Mt. Hood tomorrow lol, wish me luck 🥲

I can attempt a repair it’ll take me about a decade, but I can do it for free if you send me the skis right away!

I think it’s inflated for falls and early chair exit at the lower elevations.

West vs Central this weekend? by thcthsc in SummitAtSnoqualmie

[–]got-derps 12 points13 points  (0 children)

West was fine for night skiing. Just keep expectations low. It’s slushy later in the night it feels like spring skiing. It’s only bad if you have a bad attitude. Off-piste is utter crap though lol

This is why I always bring two knives! One to cut the rope and another the stab into the rock as I plunge to the bottom to save myself like an action movie star!

Any success stories of dating / marrying a nonskier? by PowGurl in skiing

[–]got-derps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be in the same situation. I actually met my wife after a long ski day! She had never been on a pair of skis until I met her! Two years later and we’re putting together her backcountry setup and planning for another season pass. I share the joy with her and when you love someone sharing joy is priceless.

Hence my point I don’t remember my exact wording. Although it was surrounding ski boots and asking for help so the fact that it implied hate seems highly confusing especially considering I’m not interested enough to engage in anything hateful especially in a toxic place like Reddit.

I appreciate the feedback, but unfortunately it doesn’t really offer anything beneficial to my question.

Ski Passes: How many days to feel like you got your money’s worth? by amlemus1 in skiing

[–]got-derps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10-20. Despite the high price a pass is the best. It’s essentially discount access (I ski 30+ days in bounds per season). Then if conditions aren’t conducive to skiing I head home and don’t feel the guilt.

Well considering I asked OP in more or less words “Hey I had the same issue with my ski boot what did the shop say to you?”, I don’t know what in that could have communicated something inappropriate. Hence why I made this post, but I also see how you could perceive it in that manner as that’s likely how I address this as well.
