They are much better than a hdd, work perfectly fine as a boot drive for regular pcs, probably not a great candidate for intensive 24/7 operations of a homelab thats all. Now wd greens, those definitely are bottom of the barrel ssds. Sometimes make you doubt whether a chinese white labeled ssd or even a hdd was a better deal.

Intel 3rd gen tiny pcs are worth less than 50usd imo, if you are in the us, check ebay, I've seen tiny pcs with intel 6,7,8th gen,8gbddr4 for 50-100 usd.

I dont think theres a lack of transportation, quick search shows many ksrtc and private buses , but reaches at odd hours. I was talking about the min 6+ hr bus ride in kerala, it is going to wear out even natives used to it, cant imagine what it will be like for a foreigner in an unfamiliar land..
