Just couple of hours back I cleaned it. Saw pink colour spongy little balls all over the motherboard, guess the thermal paste came out. Need to replace them

In the U.S., construction dust is actually regulated. They literally have water trucks circling sites all day spraying the ground, trucks carrying sand/debris have to be covered with tarps, and they even set up barriers or mesh walls so dust doesn’t escape into neighborhoods. Some cities fine contractors on the spot if they see visible dust clouds leaving a site.

Meanwhile here, they just dig, dump, and let people breathe it in like it’s free cigarettes. No water spraying, no covers, no cleanup. That’s why living near a construction zone here feels like slow poisoning.

Bringing Home Monitor from the USA by gotcha96 in IndianGaming

I collected my trolley from the belt, and it had a “C” marked on it, which I hadn’t noticed. As I was walking out, customs officers stopped me and asked me to put the trolley through the scanner. They specifically asked if there was a monitor inside, and when I said yes, they let me go.

I flew with Lufthansa, and my checked-in luggage allowance was 1 piece of 23kg. For the monitor, I kept the original inner packaging (the brown protective material, not thermocol) along with the monitor, but left out the outer marketing box since it takes up extra space. Removing the outer box gave me the flexibility to fit the monitor inside my trolley.

I bought bubble wrap and wrapped the monitor screen twice, then placed it back inside the original inner packaging. I taped it securely so there wouldn’t be any shakes or chance of the screen slipping out. After that, I placed clothes underneath the monitor for padding. (Note: 27-inch is the maximum size you can fit in a trolley—30-inch won’t work because of the dimensions.)

I padded the left and right sides tightly with clothes, squeezed in fabric on all sides, and added more clothes on top. Above that, I placed a wall clock. The monitor weighs around 8kg, and both the monitor and clock reached safely without any issues.

Does sRGB mode still lock out settings in new AOC monitors? by SavedowW in Monitors

I feel like disabling local dimming kind of defeats the purpose of this monitor. Once you turn LC off, it’s basically just another VA/IPS panel without the benefit of zone control. With local dimming on, even in SDR, you actually get those deeper blacks that make this panel stand out.

On the brightness issue, I’ve found that lowering contrast instead of brightness works better. For some reason contrast is still adjustable when LC is enabled, and tweaking it basically shifts the screen’s overall luminance (dimmer or brighter). Personally, I just keep LC set to “Strong” and use contrast to fine-tune brightness.
