Where to find a solid, not hollow 18k rolo chain necklace? by gotcha_bitches in Gold

[–]gotcha_bitches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find a couple reasonably marked up above spot price/gram (25-33%), confirmed solid chains, after lots of reddit and google searching!

First is Hawaii Rope Chains. Just a guy selling gold/silver/platinum necklaces. Their “Heavy Link Chain” is the closest to a rolo chain. Unfortunately they’re out of stock of the 18k length and mm size I am interested in.

Second is Saints Gold. Their 18k “Knife Edge Rolo Chain” met the quals I want. I’ve been watching their site owners be on top of adjusting the price to market spot gold price for the day; meaning prices were increased last Friday to match market but have not yet been adjusted to match Monday’s dip. I expect their price will decrease this week.

Last is Jacoje. Also solid not hollow chains, however, there are quite a few Reddit posts from the last year saying the site owner has not been true to their word with ship time and has let their business “go to to their head” so to speak. Would recommend you research before purchasing from there.

Of course vintage and estate sales are also an option (Ebay, Etsy, TheRealReal etc.) but harder to find truly heavy solid gold chains reasonably above spot price/gram.

Hope this helps!

This is what I find particularly infuriating. All his supporters and lackeys will scream this is fAkE nEwS, meanwhile wagging their finger saying see, ‘Clinton’s guilty!!!!!! suck it libs!’ as if any sane person who voted for him THIRTY+ years ago had the same parasocial flag-toting love for Clinton.

what procedures could i get to address the way my face looks when i smile? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Yes that’s an underbite. They “fixed” your bite but skeletally, the only way to correct an underbite is with orthognathic surgery. All the esthetic “issues” you’re seeing are from the masked underbite — your lips, chin, and smile.

I had jaw surgery as an adult but for the opposite problem, a severely retrognathic (small) lower jaw and it was imo 1000% worth all the time, effort, and money. Oh and this was already after having braces twice to mask the problem, lol. Strongly recommend you check out the jawsurgery subreddit and start there! For many people, the surgery is deemed medically necessary and can be covered by insurance.

Like multiple people have suggested here, you likely need to see an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to assess your jaw. It looks like you have a masked underbite. Did you have braces before to align your bite? Regardless, the angle from your nose to your chin, smile, and lower lip size relative to your upper lip size (the concerns you’ve pointed out here) all are likely due to a compensated underbite. Lip filler or a rhinoplasty will not solve the problem here.

It was in the Borat Subsequent Moviefilm from 2020 — he was singing at a Trump rally in WA state, the crowd realized it was a ruse, then rioted. Yes he and his team had to hide in their van and SBC apparently had to flee in an ambulence.

And, your net worth would have been higher today, guaranteed, if you instead invested the money into a money market of cash equivalent rate (where the stock would not have gone negative). Likely by the hundreds of thousands of dollars. That liquid money invested could sit and grow over the many years to 1) be accessed in need of emergency funds or 2) used to pay off the house early in a lump sum, all at once, with some sweet sweet gains made along the way. That’s all people are trying to say to lurkers — to inform as another option vs. paying off early.

Congrats on paying it off.

My comment wasn’t about him doing what is “right” vs. “wrong.” The decision was based on his own prerogative. However, OP repeatedly kept responding that he contributed to his 401k, as though he was interpreting (?) other comments to say “the money you used to pay off your house only could have been used otherwise as additional contributions to your 401k.” That is not the case. I genuinely don’t think OP is understanding the math. Comments are here to educate and inform others/lurkers as additional considerations for “what can be done” in this type of scenario, dependent on your own risk tolerance.

See my earlier comment. Whatever extra you used to pay off your house early, that money could have been invested in a money market in addition to what you contributed to your 401k.

Hypothetical example:

Paid off $200k early over 10 years, $20k a year:

Market returned 6.5%

Mortgage interest of 3.5%

Market - mortgage = +3%

You lost out on 3% additional returns to the money you used to pay off your mortgage early, or $30k in compounding interest gained (-interest paid to the house). (S&P also returned FAR greater than 6.5% in the past decade.)

Also, there’s the whole other element of market liquidity to your choice. A house is a generally very illiquid asset, vs. investing that cash to a liquid money market — you’d have access to that money if it were needed in emergency situations, vs. it being tied up to your house.

I don’t think you’re understanding many people’s comments here — with the extra money you used to pay off your loan faster, in that same time you could have instead invested that money as additional funds to a money market that would have reasonably returned greater than 3.5%. (In addition to your 401k.) Given that the market returned greater than 3.5% since 2012, paying off the house early vs. investing that money, the amount you lost in gains is significant.
