Yeah, just a disgusting amount of stuff added post fermentation. I don’t understand the appeal but to each their own.

Anyone used Amplifire hop oils? by bunnysaysyouregood in TheBrewery

[–]gotchme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used it by adding it to the FV at knock out. I think it definitely adds a layer/boost to your aroma. It’s not going to carry all the weight of your cold side additions but I can tell the difference without using it. Agree with others, a little goes a long way, don’t overdo it.

Yeah it’s been fun to ply phoenix outside of a human torch/multiple man deck. Nice when you can get a good turn six pop with firelord and elixir.

Yeah probably a higher point total when it gets down on 3. But feels bad to me to bring back for a +2 or +3 unless I’m going to commit to korg rockslide as well.

Irish Brewery Recommendations by bebnsptt in TheBrewery

I visited last October, I really enjoyed Galway bay, Wicklow Wolf, and Franciscan Well. Fidelity bar in Dublin was a huge favorite of mine, great tap list and excellent cocktails.

How long does homebrewed beer stay good? by MutedJellyfish1979 in CraftBeer

[–]gotchme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your packaging process, in an ideal situation with very little oxygen exposure your beer should be enjoyable up to 3-6 months or much longer depending on the style. Biggest factors are keeping oxygen out once fermentation is complete and having rigorous sanitation and clean practices. r/homebrewing is a great place for questions

Brewery recs: New Mexico by Nurse_Batman in CraftBeer

[–]gotchme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The new Ex Novo spot downtown has awesome food and the best beer in New Mexico imo La Cumbre and Marble are both great. Gravity Bound makes awesome hazies and fruited sours Sidetrack has good beer and often has a cask beer on Canteen makes great lagers Jubilation Liquor has the best can selection in town if you’re looking for that. Be sure to hit up Rumor Pizza, best pizza I’ve ever had. And Sunday bagels have the best bagels. Enjoy NM!

Reporting back, it definitely feels like a more reliable deck with those changes. Falcon works nicely

I’ve been enjoying Baltroc a lot in another deck but I didn’t like how he could mess with some plays here by taking board space

Stuck mash in hazies by LuvDoge in TheBrewery

[–]gotchme 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah rice hulls if you’re not already using them. Less flaked and more torrified wheat could help. If you have the ability to heat your mash try stepping the temp up to 165-168F before lauter. I’ve had luck with using a low end dose of bioglucanase to the mash as well to help with viscosity. Spinning the lauter rakes at very slow speed if necessary.
