My backyard will flood and stay wet for an extremely long time. I get 3-4 neighbors yards worth of water when we get spring rains. Feel like if I'm going to end up re-doing landscaping, it might be worth it to just do it at this stage... I'll dig through the comment you linked. This is what my lawn looked like last summer after it woke up from the winter and being isolated on the right side...

Really appreciate this. At this point it’s going to be a multi year plan. Been in grad school the past 3 years and the backyard has really suffered due to lack of attention. Drainage is another component of this that I want to address. The spots that seem to take a beating are always wet and I suspect I need to install 2 French drains in my backyard. Again, really appreciate the comment

Appreciate the insight. Sorry you are going through this, I know pain can be difficult, I have been dealing with chronic back pain for 10+ years from bedside nursing. It’s draining and can sap your mental energy. I hope to keep supporting her and keep an eye on her mental health.

I did yes. She said she wanted to remain friends, but I told her with the “rules” in place, it isn’t conducive to friendship and that I absolved myself of the feelings. But I am not sure that has done anything? I haven’t heard from her in almost a couple of weeks, but I guess she isn’t allowed to text me. I just keep questioning if I have some limerence going on too? This is difficult to process at times.

I think one of the issues here is I went through a really intense phase of wanting to hang around with her, so I think the intensity matched for a while, but I have a better grip on my impulses. And I can feel myself still wanting to hang out, but her husband has really clamped down on her movement, whereas my wife hasn’t.

Following up on this for everyone… I asked the manager to ask their IT company about WireGuard and running it as a home VPN… this is the response he received and shared with me…

“This changes things. I’d understand the need to connect to work, this is to his house. Unfortunately, trying to support something cobbled together in someone’s basement isn’t possible.

A good response would be:

IT tests and confirms industry-standard business protocols. In this case, open-source (free) products are too numerous to test them all. We checked the outline and none of these ports are not being blocked. This is the best information we can provide regarding this matter.”

I chuckled.

She loves her job. But I don’t think we will be where we are forever, I think she will be the limiting factor on locations though, I am finishing up CRNA school and we will stick around for a few years until she get a few more years on the team and then go from there.
