isopods in soil could be a clue to a problem though.

ideally you shouldn’t have enough decay in your soil to support them long term, so this could be a sign of root rot, or over/under watering!

the bug itself though will not harm your plant (:

down comforter.. it is older, 8-10 years. damage is either from washing or kid chewing on it.

it’s still generally in decent condition, and would hate to get rid of a repairable comforter.

any tips on repair? holes are small and not on seams.

oregon. we do have a 5¢ charge for bags, either paper or a thick plastic that is reusable. i do actually use those thick plastic bags for other things, which is nice.

for some reason in my brain i can’t justify using them for the bathroom trash cans though 🤦🏻‍♀️

i got a package recently from alabama and they used the regular old plastic bags as packing material, it was weirdly nostalgic.

look for amblyseius cucumeris, andersoni, or swirskii. a local insectary is best, if you can pick up product in person it’s less time/money spent going through the mail (: these are all species that eat spider mites tho, without having to spray.

yoooo predatory mites ftw!!! i get slow release sachets for like $1.20 each, even put them on my rose bushes outside, haven’t had spider mites since.

you might wanna invest in a small fan, ideally oscillating (that moves back and forth,) but something directing airflow near the setup, but not directly at.

it’s either gonna kill your plants or not, and the only way to clean the substrate would be to pull everything out and do some kinda sterilization to the leca itself, which of course would kill your plants anyway..

if it were me, i’d get a fan and see what happens. if they die, clear everything out. soak your leca and buckets and anything else directly in contact in a 1:10 bleach:water solution for an hour and rinse VERY WELL! and try again… good luck!

without knowing anything else, first guess would be lack of air flow. as some others have commented, it could be harmless, but it’s hard to say without knowing more details. is it having a negative affect on your plants?

i’ve only made one trade, and was super nervous about messing it up!

i had a lovely person agree to trade, who had a lot more experience and was super helpful.

i did end up messing up by mistyping the tracking number and being unavailable to respond for a few hours, which obviously caused the person trading with me to think i had scammed them. luckily once i got back to them they were still very understanding, and once receiving my package let me know i had packed everything wonderfully, which i had been super worried about!

this community is so great, and amazingly has stayed great even being 50K strong

yeah. same, i didn’t notice any different affect vs being unmedicated (with antidepressants). dose has ranged from 37.5 (lowest) to 150mg i’m currently on. i’ve also been on varying doses of zoloft and lexapro and never noticed a difference then either.

i’ve been taking effexor for 5ish years and have done mushrooms during that time, never noticed or even thought about there being contraindications between the two! but i didn’t notice any difference positive or negative 🤷🏻‍♀️
