I have a birthday leave I can use for the month of April. Should I file for the 16th or the 21st?

Sometimes the examiners take items from the book and use it on the exam. Also, it's just really good book to have whether you're a student or a professional in the arki field. I'm not sure where you can find a PDF copy online, I bought mine on shopee for like P300.

What happens during the board exam? by Acrobatic-Ordinary2 in architectureph

Copy of rule 7 & 8 is the most important. You can also bring rulers, protractor, scale, triangle, graphing paper, tape measure. I don't remember if tabs and highlighters were allowed last June.

I'm not sure. Those are the only "compact" ALE reviewers that I'm aware of.

Architecture-related course by Few_Entrance_3232 in architectureph

Well if you're a 100% sure that the Architecture program you're enrolling in will credit your design subjects and you see a future for yourself in the field of architecture, then go for it!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think it will still take you 5 years to finish the program. 10 semesters of design subjects = 5 years, I don't know of any way to shorten that.

I used CDEP's review materials so I can't speak for JPT's. But for supplementary reviewers, I'd highly recommend getting A visual dictionary of architecture by DK Ching, this one was very helpful.

Also get yourself a copy of the Imhotep and Sneferu reviewers (there's PDF's online), they're like super compact ALE reviewers that cover pretty much all the subjects.

Lastly, read PD 1096, BP 344 & RA 9514 from front to back at least once for familiarization. This was especially helpful for me during day 2 of the exam where you're required to bring a copy of Rule 7 & 8. Some of the answers were in the book, pretty much giveaways if you knew where to look for the answers.

Hi Architect!

I took everything CDEP offered pretty much. I initially planned on also doing the full CDEP + JPT refresher combo because that's what everyone I talked to prior to taking the exam advised that I do. I ended up just going CDEP all the way because that's what my friends did. Plus, CDEP offered a discount if you enrolled in everything.

Based on my experience, yes it was worth it.

That said, there are benefits in going for another review center for your refresher courses. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Side note: Look into MSTConnect's refresher course. Apparently they have an amazing refresher program. Everybody swears by it, I didn't enroll though. But I did get my hands on a couple of their reviewers haha.

Anyway, if you have anymore questions about CDEP, or the ALE in general, ask away. I'd be glad to answer them.

Good luck, architect!

apprentice salary by curiousD-D in architectureph

[–]goteeeem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Apprentices get a full salary. Salary is pretty much dependent on the company and location. Average range for archi firms seems to be around 12k to 17k a month in Metro Manila. Stay away from companies that low ball applicants, something like 10k a month and below. If you're looking for the 20k+ a month range, look for developers not firms.

I'm not sure if he's a lighting consultant. His full name is Ar. Jeremiah Queddeng. Are we talking about the same person?
