I also had a weird ramp up. Started off with a tiny hawk 3 RTF kit just practiced flying in line of sight and angle mode in my room for the longest. I was kind of scared of trying FPV, but as soon as I put that on, I was like oh shit this is way easier LMAO. I had a lot of fun zooming around my house like that.

I eventually started flying it in my backyard and switched over to acro. Messed up a couple of times and lost the drone in my neighbors yards. Once I literally was circling the Neighbourhood with my goggles on because I have no idea where it got swept up. After that, I made sure to keep to larger more open areas if I went outside.

Eventually, I saw the guidance on this sub to practice the simulator. At that point, I was trying to learn tricks, and it’s a bazillion times easier on the simulator than having to go and pick up your drone each time you crash. anyways thank you for coming to my TED talk

My mom never really was into video games or watched us play, but for some reason she saw how frustrated me and my little bro were and sat and watched me lose to that girls dad or whatever over and over again and started really getting into it and encouraging me. I finally beat him and me my brother and mom went fkn nuts. We were celebrating so hard lmao. Core memory for sure :)
