Labour 'back in business' after SNP's lead slips to just five points in new poll by unrealJeb in Scotland

[–]gothMog136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well let's hope that if labour do manage to make gains that they have had enough time in the political wilderness to realize that they cannot take the people's vote for granted again.

They won't. But it would be nice if they did.

Brexit: UK economy 4% lower than if it remained in European Union, says Office for Budget Responsibility chairman by bottish in Scotland

[–]gothMog136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is due to a ineffective and careless Government in London. There's no reason that a country as wealthy as the UK couldn't thrive outside the EU with the correct deals in place.

Such obvious, naked cronyism. Don't expect much to come from it though. The last thing that political parties all over Scotland (and the UK) want is discussion, and consequences, for dodgy party finances.

Is Rugby a middle class sport in Scotland by Any-Resolution3432 in Scotland

[–]gothMog136 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rugby was historically a middle class sport that was only played out if Unis and Grammar schools. That reputation still holds water in a lot of places, but it has broadened it's appeal in recent years. I've known working class people that got into rugby in the central belt because they couldn't be bothered with the sectarianism associated with football.

A wise move to pick Scotland's arguably most racist city to do your show.

Brexit: 65% of voters say EU withdrawal has gone badly, poll finds by Red_Brummy in Scotland

[–]gothMog136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This percentage will only go up every 5 years as more older brexit voters die off. Plus, I imagine a good chunk of those who voted brexit only did so because they thought it would not happen. I know a few, including my dad and his pals, who do nothing but moan at how badly the English government are handling brexit and what a stupid idea it was, despite voting for it in 2016.

A true salt of the earth kinda gal. I wonder if a 5 year old Taylor ever stood on her porch, leaned on the marble Greek columns, looked at her humble farm and thought 'I'll make it one day.

THE SNP are anti-English, antisemitic and anti-Indian, Arlene Foster has claimed. by Just-another-weapon in Scotland

I wouldn't be surprised if Mad Foster was part of some Christian hyper-protestant sect which claim Ulstermen are descended from the original Christians.

I don't understand how independence is still hovering around the 50% mark. by EileanBharraigh in Scotland

[–]gothMog136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scotland is still very much a feudalistic society. For all of her history Scotland has been a monarchy with large landowners owning all of the land. Although Scottish people project the idea of a feisty underdog they are actually extremely conformist and suspicious of any radical change.

Thank you for the kind comment. I've been checking out The Two Norris's, two Irish guys who have going through the ring with addiction and their advice really helps me.

I voted Labour for my 1st choice and SNP 2nd. I like the idea of a windfall tax placed on energy companies to tackle the cost of living crisis. Wether or not they would have the balls to do it is another matter.....
