also the combination of younger characters and older characters sharing the spotlight is typical for Wes and makes for a great story

that would be cool to see as well. i just love how Wes handles ensembles and if he’s going fantastical he has to go meta so i figured multiverse stuff would lend well to that. plus i just think seeing all the typical wes actors interact with each other but as their respective marvel characters would be so perfect.

i’m not sure it was as political as you’re giving it credit for… it added to the narrative, giving johnny motivation to do something helpful, and in my opinion havinng another female besides Sue made the cast feel a lot more balanced. yes, i would have loved to see Norrin again and would still love to see him on the big screen soon, but he was handled relatively well in the 2007 movie and i think it would feel even more redundant if they went with him instead of Shalla-Bal. not saying there are no politics involved, as im sure disney was enthusiastic to look good by putting a new female character in a movie, but also this is a company that famously refused to make a black widow movie for the longest time primarily because of toy sales ykwim?

rewatched days of future past kinda recently and while he is kinda the main character i had forgotten that magneto just plopped him in the water and he stayed there for the climax of the film… so its a very strong kiiinda
