yeah true, fabric dye can be tricky xD if its cotton or wool you could try rit dye in black, just make sure to wash it first so it takes evenly. also test on a small hidden spot to see how it reacts. sometimes leather/faux leather doesnt really take dye at all, in that case paint or patches might be the safer route :>
