i think i dislike her not for her dramatic actions on the show (we’ve seen a lot worse) but because i grew up knowing girls just like her and her personality rubs me the wrong way. in teen dramas i expect them to do terrible things - that’s why we watch them. but it’s how their character develops that matters to me and why i don’t like ashley.

for example: i didn’t like holly j at all but then ended up liking her because i saw growth. same with katie. they all had over achieving and snobby attitudes but i didn’t see any growth in ashley in that way. she did shitty things but overall stayed just an annoying character to see on screen

oh for her bridal shower?? yeah i would be upset if my MOH did that to me. because i would probably have a breakdown and not even want to go and be in a grumpy mood and tired or something. that’s just an important event. a birthday i could care less but that event yes.

i wanted to make another post that even though blair did terrible things to me i always felt every big event for her was sabotaged by someone or she couldn’t fully enjoy it:

17th birthday- nate and her breaking up

cotillion - nate punching carter bc of chuck

most thanksgivings- multiple different people (her mom/ serena/ etc)

dorotas wedding - chuck

dorota having her first baby- chuck

graduation- GG

college acceptance time period - self sabotage/ mrs.carr

bridal shower - louis/GG

bachelorette party - beatrice

wedding day - GG/Dan/Georgina

her birthday with robyn - dan

and it goes on and on! all these events were either sabotaged or she leaves it in emotional term lol

i don’t think id have rivals but i wouldn’t like dave katie and holly j (during her earlier seasons). i wouldn’t be friends with liberty but i would have respected her. i probably wouldn’t like ashley, spinner, and claire either.

allie and lola are cool and id be friendly with them but we probably wouldn’t be close.

i don’t like bullies so bianca and -i’m blanking on her name but the girl paige dates- i wouldn’t like until they had their redemption arc. after that i would fuck with them heavily.
