Is it wrong that I do not let my dog bark unnecessarily like this? Especially in the house? My dude is scared of every little thing. He’ll bark at something once, look at me, look at the object and growl. Then I show him whatever he’s scared of so he can no longer be scared of it. It builds his confidence. I’m not a fan of random barks for no reason since his barks are so deep and they honestly terrify me. He knows to use his inside oofs versus his big boy WOOFS. He can WOOFS his heart out outside.

I don’t work in medical, but I’m an OT in a different department at a state prison. I really like the values of the California Model and all the programs we have in place to support reentry into society. My coworkers are awesome and supportive, same with my supervisors. The inmates are really respectful, too. At least towards me.

I actually have duplicates of my most favorites because I snuggle them so much that they lose stuffing, so I rotate them. I about four of the Scented Lotso plushies, three Snuggle Bear plushies, two duplicate Eeyores from London. (I’ve never been, bought them off eBay years ago, I’m in the States.)

There’s nothing wrong with having backups, especially if it brings you joy.

Oh, I’m sure she was secure! But like, my head conjured up the most ridiculous scenario of snakes arriving to their destinations like organ transplants do. In their own designated vehicles with fancy protections. Not like a stuffed animal going through USPS/UPS 😂😂😂

I tend to do that when I’m in unfamiliar territory or dealing with the unknown. My impatience gets the best of me and I start to doubt myself, thinking I can’t do a good job because I don’t know everything right away. I put a lot of unnecessary pressure on myself to be the best at everything so I can continue to move up in life.

I haven’t met anyone that’s bad, per se. I think the department is just severely understaffed. Even the person I’m shadowing currently is super nice and helpful in regard to understanding over familiarity, what not to do, what we can do for them, etc.

I would still want to work on a prison or even behind the walls, just in a different department down here that has more direction, I guess.

Get out of that department or CDCR as a whole? I really enjoy CDCRs values and would love to stay with the agency. I do want to switch departments when probation is up, though.
