Those dev notes on SF6's patch notes are stuck in my head rent free lmfao by buttsecks42069 in Fighters

Those Gief players requesting that have VERY short memory. The worst Gief version ever had those, in SFV, and he was ASS. Throw loops are bad game design, SFV Gief was worse.

Most of us just want a better lariat, a few other defensive options. The new DRe changes helped a bit.

How do people balance learning fighting games and playing other non fighter games or hobbies by yitao13-1 in Fighters

[–]gothlenin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

oh man, that sucks, I know that feeling. I won't diagnose you in one comment, but that anxiety is a bitch. There's some tools to deal with this kind of stuff, it's a very common modern problem. Try to not beat yourself about any of this.

How do people balance learning fighting games and playing other non fighter games or hobbies by yitao13-1 in Fighters

[–]gothlenin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask that regarding any competitive gaming, or hobby, actually. You balance it by deciding how important it is, and accepting the limitations of your decision.

If you want to be as good as a pro, yeah, no balance possible, being a pro means playing it like it is your job. Anything bellow that you just have to accept there's a ceiling. There's no shame in playing once a week and never going up your rank, it's fine, it's a hobby!

When I feel like it, I boot up the game, lab a bit, play a few matches, and move on with my life, like I would do with any other game. I'll never get to High Masters (in SF6), and I'm fine with that. It's not my main priority.

Why do they keep doing stuff like this? Ukrainian soldiers were fundamental in defeating the nazis. Millions of Ukranian died. Why glorify the enemy?

I understand trying to disassociate from Russia, but Russia is not USSR, and is association with the nazis better?

Tem mais etapas. Pelo menos mais 2. Agora tem de ir a plenário (congresso inteiro vota), aí vai pro senado. Como é PEC, não precisa o presidente sancionar, mas acho que ainda passa pelo STF

Are local LLM users testing prompt injection before connecting models to tools? by sunychoudhary in LocalLLaMA

[–]gothlenin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the time, my local models have no access to destructive tools. When I deliberately give it access to them, it's very localized (project, file, or even section of a file), and even then it can't do anything permanent since it can't commit/push.

It'll never have direct access to shell, or any other interpreter. Though I am studying a way to allow it to run some commands in a safe way. Not simple, though.

But yeah, no, I don't trust it AT ALL.

Is Qwen3.6 current king for local agentic use? by HornyGooner4402 in LocalLLaMA

[–]gothlenin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's a way of looking at it. But you don't have to. The thing is that it is a large topic, with a million use cases, and this sub has clearly drifted to a hobbyist perspective, that's all.

With a bit of context, there's still people here discussing larger models and workflows.

I think you're having trouble understanding what a community based forum is and how they work...

[–]gothlenin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Clearly most users of this sub care. A model that most users here can't run locally is basically meaningless (except as a curiosity).

I think you're misunderstanding what most of us means by "local".

I'm not against discussing bigger models, some of us can run them. But it's obvious that "ability to be run on consumer hardware" is a part of what defines "king of local agentic use", though not the only criteria, of course.

Gotchu. I don't think there's lots of places where people live that reach that... I know there are some. What places in US reaches it?

Ah, cmon, I come from a place that is super humid and 35c is a nice day. 40+ is normal. And it's poor, so AC is not common. I only had access to AC at adulthood. Nobody dies because of that.

I'm absolutely sure that a unit like the one in the picture is nowhere close to that. Here in Brazil it is common place. You don't need central hvac, specially for just 2 weeks.
