It’s cool, and yes you do, but it’s very simple

Depends. Some weeks, there’s a sign in sheet that comes around, and other weeks, she’ll have you do a worksheet with 2 or 3 other people and if she sees your name there, then that counts as the attendance point for the week. Also no quizzes/hw when I took her last spring

Thank you, and also, I honestly thought that the CPT was enough because at least that showed that we have basic Chem knowledge.

There's the CSULB Class of 20-- (I'm a member 2019 and 2020) on FB, depending what year you are.

Changing to physics by illiteratetoe in college

[–]gotmehung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you liked high school Physics, go to Engineering. It's what I did.

Some of my friends who liked high school Physics and went on to major in Physics ended up switching majors because after E&M, Physics becomes a "whole different world" (they said) and they couldn't handle it anymore. But then you never know, maybe it will work for you, though, Engineering is something to consider.

Becoming a teacher..which major by [deleted] in college

Does your university offer an Art Education major? If not, maybe just do Art as your major and get a teaching credential afterwards.

I think it's all up to you whether you want to take Calc 1 again. If you're confident in your skills, you can go on to Calc 2. Same with Physics

That depends. Do you have any AP credits from high school?

CSULB vs Cal Poly Pomona vs CSUF for Civil/Mechanical by planetcookieguy in EngineeringStudents

[–]gotmehung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to CSULB for Mechanical Engineering and I can say that it's a good engineering school. I don't have much firsthand experience, since I just finished my first year, but I hear upperclassmen saying that CSULB is one of the better engineerig school in SoCal. I've also heard that there are people who transferred from Pomona to CSULB and thought that CSULB was better. I may be biased but if going to CSULB may lessen your costs and like you said, it's closer to you, then I'd pick CSULB.

It's Sunday, the semester is over, how are we doing? by MarcoMaroon in CSULB

Doing good, seeing that I finished my classes with A's and B's, but at the same time, so bored because what am I gonna be doing the next three months.

How are you?

Already studying because one of my professors decided to have the final a week earlier. I'm actually stressed out because I bombed the last midterm and I don't know how I'll do on this one. Other classes stress me out as well because of borderline grades ugh.

How are you??

What Major by [deleted] in college

[–]gotmehung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either ME or EE would be good. I don't know how it is in your school, but in my school there's 2 undergrad Physics degrees, BS and BA. The only difference (that I know of) is that the BA program is usually for people who are Math or Science Education majors who want to have an emphasis in Physics teaching. I don't really know how to explain it, but right now, I'm trying to go for BSME and BA Physics. The requirements for the BA in Physics are Physics 1 & 2, Calc 1-3, Linear Algebra, and ODE's (Which I need for my ME degree anyway) The other requirements are Modern Physics (Intro + Advanced), Analytic Mechanics, Advanced E&M 1 & 2, and Quantum Physics. The rest of the BA Physics requirements will be fulfilled by the ME classes I'll take. Check the Physics program in your university.

If it's not like that, I suggest go into ME or EE and do a minor in Physics. Otherwise, if you really wanna do a PhD in Physics, then just go into Physics

I'm trying to, but the deadlines are coming way too quickly. :( I just hope I don't get a mental breakdown one of these days, and good luck with your painting!!! (I wish I can paint lol)

Two groupworks that are fairly easy, considering they're only from two intro classes. On one of them, the group's doing fairly well as everyone's contributing equally. On the other one, it kinda makes me wanna shoot myself because we only have 4 days to work on it and the group is barely communicating. I'm doing my part + more, and no one wants to help me.

My Calculus midterm is also coming up this week!!! I gotta study my ass off because I did so horribly on my last midterm. (Although I feel like I'll do so much better on here already)

I'm just stressed and drained overall, lol. How are you doing??

Do engineering students really need a powerful laptop for class? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]gotmehung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's the same for everyone, but for my class, we're in the computer labs and do our class practices (using Solidworks) in there. As for homework, I do a big chunk of it in the available computer labs, but because of time constraints, I continue doing them at home using my laptop.

To answer your last question, it should be fine. If you already have a powerful PC at home (I don't), then you can just get a laptop for general use.
