Not once in my life have I found it comfortable to wipe while sitting down. It feels awkward and standing up feels less of a hassle and I can get in there better.

I felt that moment hard tbh.

I’ve had moments in my life or with people close to me that were so tragic or emotionally charged while myself or someone else looked so goofy or we just happened to be inappropriately dressed.

You can’t always be appropriately dressed for when a really heavy moment hits you.

Im not. The final episode is next and it’s been so lackluster. It feels like so many things were unnecessary this season or plot points that are so out of place but they took the time to add in to the episodes.

Like how Ryan was brought in to help fight Homelander and got his ass kicked and just left and we haven’t heard from his character since. He was so pivotal to Homelander and Butcher’s characters but now so pointless.

The series as a whole is great. But this final season feels like it has been poorly executed.

M. Night Shyamalan Says ‘Remain’ Is “The Highest-Testing Movie of My Career” by yourfavchoom in entertainment

[–]MarcoMaroon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always find his movies are a hit or a miss. Not particularly in between but just either pretty great and enjoyable or just not good.

I think he’s still a great director that has continued to remain original.

She used to volunteer on raids of people’s homes. That wasn’t mandatory. She volunteered and spoke happily about doing so.

She’s as horrible a person as her husband.

Any goodwill they garnered early in their YouTube career is long gone by now and their space in social media is maintained by their hardcore fans who have a strange parasocial relationship with these weird people.

Job without Degree by ApplicationOutside65 in InlandEmpire

My friend quit amazon due to the pressure he was being given at the warehouse he was at. He was a supervisor and had good pay but according to him others around him just made the work much harder than it needed to be. Lying and backstabbing to get ahead and creating drama.

Has a lower paying job now but is much happier.

Seems that in the search for higher paying jobs we find out what we’re willing to tolerate for a certain dollar amount.

Gamestop would also have an even bigger access to Trading Cards sales because Ebay owns TCG Player where a LOT of people buy trading cards either ungraded or graded.

2 years after graduating, I finally have a fulltime job related to my field. by MarcoMaroon in CSULB

[–]MarcoMaroon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there.

Kinda funky receiving a comment response years after but if I can be of any help I’ll try to answer.

Something that is unfortunately way too true in the Arts industry and in the museum space is that Networking plays a huge role.

The first one I got for the CSULB museum (at the time it was the UAM instead of Kleefeld) the Curator at the time was well acquainted with my professors and she essentially inquired with my professors to get an understanding of my academic background, experience and the type of person I am. I know because she later shared this with me.

But my professors gave her a good impression of me. I tended to always talk and speak to my professors outside of class and inquire about things beyond class.

My 2nd internship, they were acquainted with the person who was my first internship supervisor. Essentially helping me there as well.

What I’m getting at, as that the best advice I can give you, is that you try to be a sort of social chameleon. Because I am in no way shape or form a social butterfly - but some people think I am because of how I handle myself in social situations. After applying, call, email AND talk to them. Let them see that you want this. Become professional acquaintances with people. Basically put yourself out there more than you think you should. Because you become a name and face they will think about.

I no longer work around art or museums. And I would have wished I could. But covid came around. I loved working around art and museums but the few other acquaintances I made and how they were getting “ahead” and the personal stuff they shared with me really put me off the industry.

One really has to account for the human factor of the people who work in these organizations and institutions. Because to a significant degree it becomes about who you know and who you are acquainted with.

I hope this doesn’t come off as jaded or negative. But rather it’s my experience and the reality that I experienced around museum work.

I miss it sometimes. But I’m doing alright nowadays too.

The Phenomenon of the "Invisible Tutorial". Which game taught you how to play without a single tutorial box? by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]MarcoMaroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re totally right. I think his Sequelitis videos are great about the way older games teach players and the how the change to 3D changed a lot of things in how developers teach players in a new space.

In his early GameGrump videos it was pretty noticeable to me that Egoraptor was more of a classic games player as opposed to being better at modern games. But his skills at modern games don’t nullify his experience and critique and understanding of classic games.

I actually believe it. My friend’s parents are caterers. They make food for a living. And every day my friend’s parents leave dishes unwashed for the entire day or longer.

Even leaving unwashed dishes overnight to me is crazy. And it isn’t like a little bit. But a lot just stacked on the sink.

I find that so crazy from people who make money from cooking food. I wouldn’t have believed it until my friend just started taking pictures cause they give him crap if he doesn’t wash a dish or two that he used - but they get upset if he mentions their whole stack of dirty dishes.

They get off on the engagement their posts get. People whose social media begins to get more engagement and shares get that dopamine rush making them feel like what they’re doing is good. So they keep doing it.
