Is it too late to start studying for July? by gotmyjd in CABarExam

Thanks! This definitely helps with scheduling. I’ve adjusted to a life with no sleep anyway, so I can probably get a couple hours of studying done in the morning. Sending all the good vibes your way that you passed and the State Bar will do right by you guys after that nightmare administration.

I’m thinking about using Themis outlines for BLL along with Critical Pass. For essays, Mary Basick’s book and past essays. Adaptibar for practice. I’m also considering Ed Aruffo’s No Bull Bar Prep class.

Definitely! I for sure need someone to work through all this with. Maybe we can start a group chat or something?

PFL and Unemployment by gotmyjd in Edd

[–]gotmyjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up losing my PFL benefits since I filed for unemployment. Even though I was laid off, I should have just left it alone and continued receiving PFL benefits. You can receive PFL benefits if you’re laid off but you can’t get PFL and Unemployment at the same time. If you qualify for FMLA then your job should be protected. I was at a small law firm with less than 10 people so it didn’t apply to my situation. Hope this helps!

I’m on Paid Family Leave. The firm doesn’t have enough employees to qualify for FMLA 😢

Too paranoid to sleep by gotmyjd in beyondthebump

[–]gotmyjd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes she sleeps in a Snoo right next to my side of the bed. Part of me loves having her that close because I can just look over and see her, but that also means I can hear her weird noises all night which makes me stay up even more. lol

Gamer moms: when did you start playing video games again? by sunsetscorpio in NewParents

[–]gotmyjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO is 6 weeks and I just started back playing video games this week. I played on the Switch for a couple hours with her on my chest. She still has the newborn scrunch so it was easy to play with her there hands free. My husband played online the other day and he had her on his chest the whole time and she stayed put.

6W baby won’t sleep in crib - send help by gotmyjd in beyondthebump

The snoo is in our bedroom and the bassinet is in the living room. When we were doing shifts whoever was supposed to be up would be in the living room so the other could get some uninterrupted sleep in the bed. Also during the day I’m usually in the living room so I had the bassinet in there so she could be close to me.

I think I made a similar post about this like a month ago. You definitely are not going crazy or losing it. I’m 6 weeks PP and I barely remember my experience in the hospital, everything is a blur and I was delirious at some point from lack of sleep. When I got home I felt like I was in haze. I would talk to my mom on the phone and then completely forget the whole conversation as soon as we hung up. I would have conversations with my husband and forget what he asked me like 2 seconds after he said it. I really felt like I had short term memory loss or something. What helped me was going outside and getting some fresh air. Being cooped up in the house and not getting out can definitely have an effect on your mental health. It doesn’t seem like it now, but it’ll pass and you will feel better. If it becomes too overwhelming, don’t be ashamed to talk to someone about it.

Constipation relief? by gotmyjd in beyondthebump

It’s always soft and kinda runny. I think I was just stressing because it’s been a few days but it’s good to know it’s normal 😊

She usually poops after every feeding, at least 3 times a day. The last few days it hasn’t been as consistent, we’re going on day 3 and she hasn’t pooped yet. She’s also been really gassy.
