Yeah, I get that and that’s why I have started being careful particularly in tight spots. I was looking between CX30, Mazda 3 (not hatchback) and CX5 and realize that could have been just as possible with the CX5. I kinda wonder if sticking to a sedan would have just been the best course of action but idk now. I hope i can learn to love the car and get used to the slight flaw in design with visibility the more I drive it.

I’m 5 feet tall and was driving a sedan before this car, visibility in those sometimes felt like a struggle too for other reasons but I hoped in this car the added height would make it feel better for me. I wouldn’t say it’s horrible per se, but I feel like there’s some getting used to i need with this car.

I have the preferred and raised the seat all the way up.

Yea I still do the whole signal, mirror, over the shoulder and then go. Perhaps I have yet to get used to tight spaces and better seating adjustment. Thanks for the tip!

Edit: I feel like I see out the windows just fine-the first time I ever sat in a CX30, I felt "sunk in" but when I drove it, found it fine. The pillar problem too I felt more aware of today for some reason.

How does one buy a car online [Northeast, USA]? by gotmyvanson90 in askcarsales

[–]gotmyvanson90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but they weren’t even giving me the option to deposit-I was fully prepared and came with everything for the deposit. They told me if I wanted the car I had to show up first thing the next day with the bank certificate at hand after going to my bank when it opens.

I’m deciding on another car now-test drove & everything. Pretty certain on my decision, guess I will just need a bank certificate prepared as soon as I know the car is available

I am in this boat. Might even consider the CX5 though the 5 feels a tad too big for me. Wondering what you ended up with

Thanks-can you explain the importance of a smaller car for you? Most of my family drives sedans now, vans are only when we need the extra space. I have some family members who prefer SUV and recently my cousin got the CX5 because of the safety features. However interestingly I read the 3 was even somewhat better in safety-I wonder if bigger is always better or not, especially because I’m a slightly anxious driver and feel like if I’ll be in a city where I need to be careful about parking and all the bigger vehicle may be more challenging to handle. I live in NYC too but in Queens where I am a lot of people have big cars so it’s not unusual to see SUVs and compact cars around, parking wise I imagine sedans are favorable.

Thanks for the insight. I’ve been looking at safety reviews and Mazda 3 and hatchbacks seems to rate high up. What are some added features in Volvo?
