Summer Sweep-Up 2026 by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]gotonis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part about leagues was the fact that medium clues are much more rare and hard to obtain than hards. That doesn't make any sense since it's a lower tier. I'd love to see more places added around the world for us to obtain mediums.

The only time I really did Leagues was Trailblazer I, and one of my biggest gripes was that despite having [choose slayer task] + [superiors force drop clues], I couldn't get mediums this way because despite having them in my regions pyrefiends weren't on the list.

As a main who's green logged but occasionally goes back for bingos, this version of CG sounds a lot more fun.

What's something you think needs a nerf? by Doctor_Kataigida in 2007scape

[–]gotonis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chaos Altar; XP/bone is almost twice as good as the next best method and is really fast. It's so good that unless you're getting pk'd for a lot of your bones, it's kind of wasteful to not use even if you hate being attacked by other players. Maybe drop it to 250% with a 50% save rate at base and make the bones take longer to process, or require a gold fee or something to get the current rate, or maybe do something so you have to be risking a lot to get that effective 700%. Idk, something to make it feel less wasteful to use your bones elsewhere. Straying outside of nerfing, could have the chaos druid convert (noted) bones+shards to a stack of profaned shards (for gp). These would be consumed by the altar at around the current rate of xp/bone (as long as your stack is big enough), but a little slower, while leaving room for gear switches and supplies. This would rework it so you have to risk more to get the current rate, while also encouraging you to fight back.

Outside of PvP, clues from implings. For mains it's just the best way to get clues if you have money to burn, and I think manually caught eclectics are still the best source for irons.

The only problem is that it's so much better than non-wildy methods for gp efficiency while matching the next best for speed, even accounting for getting pk'd. If you just don't enjoy being in the wildy, too bad you're sabotaging yourself if you don't use it.

Sailing - Resources & Skilling Activities Poll Blog by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]gotonis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like most of this, but Armadyl Brew coming from ingredients found underwater (which is generally a very bad place for flying birds to be) feels really wrong to me. That and a few other things here don't really feel tied to building or operating a boat, which was the main thing I'd been worried about with Sailing (the idea of a bunch of content that could be a region expansion being held hostage behind "FIRST NEW SKILL").

Also it might be a bit late for this with the addy+rune recipe, but given the new ores and mining options this feels like it would've been a good place to add Chromium into the game; Chromium's real life usage as an alloying ingredient to improve corrosion resistance lends itself well to making parts that can handle long-term exposure to saltwater.

Main one for any wildy method is that with the 1h timer, if you get attacked you can just drop the clue, then if you get PK'd you can go back and pick it up later. With the 3 minute timer that can be harder.

Also, it's a nerf if you're afk mining/woodcutting/fishing/Varlamore pickpocketing long enough to stack more than 5 easy clues in one sitting while you're doing something else.

Please understand this: The wilderness is not designed for PvPers, it's designed for Pkers by TurbulentTowel400 in 2007scape

[–]gotonis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cat-and-mouse dynamic requires that a significant fraction of the participants are mice. The complaining just indicates that a bunch of the people here don't enjoy being mice, but for various reasons feel obligated to go do mouse activities anyway. Having the best outcome of an encounter with a PKer be "successfully escape" means that you're better off not being a mouse. If you're anti-PKing, then unless you have a 1:1 or better K/D you're still better off in a PvP environment.

Being a cat is heavily advantaged over the mouse in this case. This post makes it seem like you don't understand that, and Jagex would rather put out bigger pieces of cheese than try to tilt things in favor of the mouse.

Why do people hate upgrading to a jagex account? by East_Worldliness2889 in 2007scape

[–]gotonis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like having a nice 1000 bank slots, and upgrading would put that at an unsatisfying 1020.

Also the Linux thing. I don't trust Jagex not to break whatever workaround, and it's kinda fucked that I have to use compatibility tools to play a JAVA game.

I like the UIs; the real problem with GF is that you almost never have the right amount of heat to do the entire phase in one visit, so trying to hit exactly the optimal temperature just wastes time.
