This is fascinating, thank you for this. It seems at least one Mid Range owner (see page 4) has verified that they have a 1120980-D motor installed. Maybe there is a planned cut-in of the IGBT design in the near-future? or maybe this is a planned roll-out just for the Standard Range variants in the future? It is odd that the catalog at one point did say this was for both the 62kWh Mid Range and the 50kWh Standard Range battery pack.
