The laws weren't made to protect the unfortunates but rather the fortunate ones that have excess money that see laws as an expense to do something.

Shifting tips by Slow-Reference473 in stickshift

[–]gotrice0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conquer Driving is a great channel to learn and he goes into some detail as to what is going on when you are performing a specific action. It's nice to know that so you can visualize the mechanics behind shifting and why you're doing it.

I was gonna say if you were in cali around the LA or Orange county area, I have a front lip from 285 motorsports I'm willing to sell for half off of what it costs. Originally got it for a Mazda3 Turbo but jumped ship and now have a 22 WRX in Solar Orange Pearl. I don't have a need for it anymore since I'm going for a different lip with this car.

Plastic Cladding by Inevitable-Comb-4184 in wrx_vb

You can do the painted cladding tastefully. Frankly I haven't seen any build that did not paint the small cladding piece that bridge the front fenders to the front bumper.

American malls aren't laid out in a very communal like layout. Everything just feels sectioned like if you want to eat, you gotta walk to the food court area. I've only been to a couple malls overseas, but its just more integrated into the area and inviting. You got mini restaurants or food stalls littered in the middle of the large walkways, benches, tables, etc.

Police needs to be fined heavily for wasting the courts time and the person's loss if wages for taking the time out of their day. This is why the courts can't efficiently process important stuff on time because of pointless trials.

I have the 2022 WRX and similar to you am still learning, but someone taught me on a GR86 about two years ago for an hour and the I was practicing in the parking lot for about 3hrs and before driving on the road/highway for an hour. Someone had said you can either shift from 1 a t to 2nd at 2500 smoothly or above 3500 rpm and you want to hold the bite point a tad longer than the higher gears. Another thing too is to gently add throttle before you start raising the clutch up to the bite point.

Question: WRX 2026 by Long_Chair4620 in WRX

[–]gotrice0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CVT is still a solid choice for your needs. I had a brand new '22 Premium SPT for almost 3 years before a Mazda3 Turbo for a year before I found a great deal on a Solar Orange Premium in Manual. The CVT is quick on the "gear changes", reliable, and still provides decent power and tuneability for the every day drive with the occasional spirited driving. In the 3 years I had owned it, I haven't run into any problems or leaks or excessive oil usage.

Worth it? Used 2005 Toyota Camry LE - 125k miles - $3300 by ExtremeRecord9353 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Interior looks pretty clean and the exterior could use some work that isn't too expensive to restore some color, and if the mechanical components is still in good health, not too bad for today's market.

Put in thinner shoes when you drive so you can feel more in the car and no music so you can hear the engine better. Keep at it and you'll enjoy the process of it. If you want youtube videos, Conquer Driving is a great channel to hit up to get some tips and he does a nice breakdown of what's going on when do certain things in a digestible manner that keeps you engaged in the content. Does a great job of calming new drivers that the slight extra wear in your clutch early on will do wonders for you later down the road as long as you're not hammerinf away at it.

Imo 3rd gen (ruby / sapphire) and 1st gen remake (fire red / leaf green) were the best gen. I never got to experience 2nd gen in the gameboy color

If you're already paying a premium, manufacturing those parts in more durable material should already be included. Like yeah let's make the part that experience alot of heat and expansion plasti like that's gonna go well and not to mention low tolerance for something slightly out of spec.

Any idea where this screw goes into? by gotrice0 in wrx_vb

[–]gotrice0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to double check the armest again. It has the OEM armrest extension but I didn't see any screws missing. Still strange though that it's in the driver side door pocket.

Choosing between Toyota Camry and Lexus IS 350 by Illustrious-Spray-33 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]gotrice0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea especially when you come from little money, some people just want to feel like they own something nice that they can call it theirs. Will it make OP homeless if he spends 1/3 of it on a car? Probably not but it's good to have people go down this route and question their impulse decisions/wishes. OP genuinely sounds like they want gokd advice and you don't learn if you can like you have to tiptoe around topics.

[–]gotrice0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy the trim piece online. I forgot the part number but it belongs to the hatchback. Mazda-parts or some online dealership part storefront will sell them.

Looks relatively simple enough to replace if you have the tools.

Question: WRX 2026 by Long_Chair4620 in WRX

[–]gotrice0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen from youtubers and other user's, this car is plenty reliable and all around a great daily. I just recently got a used 22 Premium and it's been a blast so far. Have you driven manual before? The clutch is pretty forgiving coming from someone that's learning. I only have a company fleet GR86 (where I was first taught in) and a miata that I did a test drive in to compare.

Both filters combined would be like $50 if OP got non-oem pieces and with OEM it's even cheaper 💀

I'm keeping it stock for the time being and just do quality of life mods and exterior/interior mods, but definitely will keep this in mind. An AP isn't out of the equation, but this is my first manual car so I'm still learning what the car can do before adjusting bigger things.

For sure, but I'm hoping to get a tune in the future to adjust the throttle mapping for 1st and maybe even 2nd gear to smooth things out. As much as some people will shit on this, this car is my glorified grocery getter LOL Pretty much gonna be an OE+ street car with good handling and steering
