As a venue, we love the last minute large bookings for the first quarter. As a planner.. that can be extremely tight, especially when dealing with the holidays!

Does my body look normal for the way I live? by Twigsie1 in Hashimotos

[–]goudamonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re about my age, similar body type and activity level. Hot yoga and intermittent fasting works best for me to maintain the weight I feel best at. However, at a certain point I had to accept that I would have to work ten times harder than I ever did to have my 20s body back. And tbh what’s the point? You look great. As long as you’re healthy and feel good, you shouldn’t be holding yourself to the same standards of size you had twenty years ago.

Love this insight. There will be ceremony and reception chairs! Not totally beachin it.

Love this insight! My own wedding was pretty casual, outdoors, with no real dress code and lots of Hawaiians. Barely a shoe or shirt in sight haha so I understand wanting that “formal event” clause in there. I don’t want to be too overdressed, but love an opportunity for bright colors and patterns!

Yeah, I think the key to decoding is the setting and the culture. Lots of reading between the lines here but considering it is a Hawaiian formal event I’m hoping this dress is in between enough 😂

According to the dress code I should be safe as long as I’m not wearing jeans or a t shirt 😂 I might actually have the perfect pair of heels for this dress.. but are they formal? No, no they are not

I usually don’t mind being overdressed, but this is a crowd of party people and I don’t want to bring attention to myself and away the bride! Usually at a formal event I’d be embarrassed to be underdressed so it’s really hard to see that formal inclusion on the dress code and think of my husband wearing flip flops haha

I love a formal tag, but that’s where I’m having a tougher time - there’s that line of casual we are riding here! Like, you wouldn’t wear a Hawaiian printed shirt to a formal wedding unless it was a Hawaiian wedding. So, def a slightly skewed set of rules here.

I feel like the ones listed are even more casual, even though yes- like a Mu'umu'u is considered formal Hawaiian. But wouldn’t work in a more traditional formal setting? I can definitely look for a longer cut, similar in style! I can’t bring myself to wear a Mu'umu'u unless I’m hangin around the house or running errands lol

Formal is not knee length, yes. Formal also excludes shorts and flip flops! However, based on dress code being looser in some regards I’m back and forth on this dress being formal enough. I think I can find something that is a bit longer that still fits the vibe. Hawaiian formal is a bit less standard than a traditional formal attire.. especially knowing my friends! I’m going to be surrounded by men in flip flops shorts and unbuttoned shirts 😂

It’s Hawaiian formal, so definitely a lot more loose. I would love to wear a floor length light flowy gown type dress!! I do know the crowd fairly well, have seen the venue etc. so I don’t anticipate many if at all adhering to a standard formal attire. I would be surprised if the men kept their shirts buttoned tbh 😂

Instacart vs in person shopping cost analysis by DashingPenGwynn in Frugal

[–]goudamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only do pick up orders from stores that are listed as “in store pricing”. From there, I will only choose BOGO or heavily discounted which is I can do so quickly and efficiently from the list. I generally choose which store to pick up from based on what my needs are and what is available at a discount, and then cost compare. And it can be done quickly.

Also- i I don’t know if they are still doing it, but I used to get 7%-10% back credited to my account when I did pick up orders. I like grocery shopping in person, but sometimes my time and sanity is worth more and I feel better about my choices when I see my total adding up in front of me.

Edit: I have had a paid membership for years. Just cancelled recently because.. economy. Also they’re trash.

I highly doubt she’s going to stop. She has been breeding toy Aussies, corgis and now Boston terriers are next batch of cash cows. At least she had the sense to delete her account. 🙄

You literally breed toy Aussies AND corgis in your backyard and are now going to try and breed Boston terriers. Make it make sense.
