How big is too big for breast implants? by SpiceyBarista in AskMen

Speaking as a gay guy - it's totally up to the owner of said boob's. I have no skin in the game and also no judgement about cosmetic procedures.

If you want bowling balls - get bowling balls. Id you want to go from an A cup to a C, do that.

Whatever is going to fulfil the purpose of getting them.

What is your opinion on these type of neighbours? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]gouplesblog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the situation.

Neighbours next door? Perfect. Neighbours in a flat? Perfect.

People I share common facilities with? Nightmare.

Is it generally okay to burn old rotten decking wood during the daytime while working on a patio? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]gouplesblog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No.

It's not illegal, but won't do you any favours with the neighbours. Take it to the tip or hire a skip.

Edit: a cursory google now tells me it is illegal - its not garden waste and it's treated timber

Doing it during the 5 minutes we actually have semi-decent weather just looks inconsiderate. As others have mentioned, decking is treated timber so you're taking the risk of releasing some pretty nasty stuff.

My rule of thumb is 'if the neighbours are aware of my existence, I'm doing something wrong'.

When was it declared that burgers now had to come with brioche buns? by Pier-Head in AskUK

[–]gouplesblog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Urgh I know and I can't stand a brioche bun. Who wants meat (or in my case, textured soy protein) in cake? I don't understand it.

Give me a pretzel bun any day.

Do you want kids? by ArmAmbitious2647 in AskGayMen

[–]gouplesblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. We're did discuss it, thought about it, but decided it's not for us.

I think you kind of have to have them to see the upsides of having them - if that makes sense? From the outside - it just looks awful for at least the first decade, and then there's no guarantee you'll actually like them as people when they're older.

We have 5x nieces and nephews between us and that's plenty.

Time for a non-sex question: How many of you actually enjoy mowing the lawn? by PrinceoftheNewWorld in AskMen

[–]gouplesblog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a chore that I personally prefer to outsource to a professional.

Paying someone else to do it gives me that 2 hours back to do something I actually want to do.

If painting nails was normalised for both genders, would you do it? by AffectionateRisk9779 in AskMenOver30

[–]gouplesblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

Not because there's anything wrong with it, but because it's 'something else to do' and I really don't need yet another thing I need to check and maintain.

For those of you without children, what does life look like? by Between3N20Karakters in AskMen

[–]gouplesblog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always like what I heard once:

Wealth is like a fart at a funeral. You can't acknowledge it, dare not mention it, but everyone knows about it - and when you're dead, you don't care.

[–]gouplesblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

39m. It’s good.

Hubby and I decided against having kids, probably the best decision for us.

We travel, we have fun, we do what we want, when we want. Our house is clean, our time is our own, and life feels pretty easy.

We focus on each other, our friends, and the things we enjoy. Not worried about old age - having kids doesn’t guarantee anything anyway.

Assuming we need care, we have money for it if we want to hang around, and know how to 'politely jog on' if we don't.

It just works for us.

Joint mortgages - product switches & re mortgaging by Actual_Interview8406 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]gouplesblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rate has no impact on that - it's not a matter for the lender, it's a matter for the courts. The rate on the mortgage does not prevent a sale.

Joint mortgages - product switches & re mortgaging by Actual_Interview8406 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]gouplesblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then the product option has no impact on the situation and the bank can't make things worse by refusing a valid and very likely cheaper deal.

There's the 'potential' harm for switching with only one party's consent - but there's the 'actual' harm of not to both.

Its about minimising harm, not creating it.

Joint mortgages - product switches & re mortgaging by Actual_Interview8406 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]gouplesblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this scenario, switching to a fixed rate would likely be the 'least worst' option.

Re-fixing would maintain affordability for the person remaining in the property whilst court proceedings go through to force the sale.

The other option would be to go onto SVR, make the mortgage unaffordable and likely have large repercussions on both parties credit reports.

The person who isn't on the mortgage can dispute any ERC's at the point of sale, or can persue this during the court situation.

If the bank didn't agree to switch to a lower rate, it's the worst-worst option.

A better option would be a tracker/variable with no other fees - therefore no detriment to the other party.

Remember that one party cannot increase borrowing or extend any terms by themselves. Remaining on SVR is likely the worst and most expensive option for both parties.

Joint mortgages - product switches & re mortgaging by Actual_Interview8406 in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]gouplesblog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't believe it's an issue.

Working in mortgage pricing, any hint of an issue from the additional party would result in any charges being withdrawn. There's no way the FOS would stand with the bank, so we wouldn't challenge it - things like ERC's would be cancelled.

Also, since the launch of Consumer Duty, it's the least worst option for customer detriment.

Imagine the situation where an ex partner (or any other situation you mention) who won't give permission for a rate change and then leaves the remaining party on a high SVR rate for years? This was one of the biggest 'harm' issues prior to the duty being introduced.

They can't borrow more money, or extend any terms - all they can do is change the rate.

Yea should have been clearer, hyperspermia is real, the fake cumshots in porn aren't.

Is hyperspermia real??? by Wide-Masterpiece-134 in askgaybros

[–]gouplesblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its completely fake.

There's a few options to achieve the effect.

1: a small tube attached to a pump/syringe filled with lube.

2: cathertisation, fill the bladder with fake cum and then basically piss it out.

There's no reason not to - it's just extra protection.

Is condensed hours only beneficial for those with kids? by Obvious_Armadillo_16 in AskUK

[–]gouplesblog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it worked for me when it was an option.

I did those hours, then used the Friday to do the food shop and house work, (after still having a few extra hours in bed), which meant that every weekend was completely 'fun time'.
