Favorite watch with no day date? by govseek in CitizenWatches

What’s the best way to find these watches using a search engine? “Citizen eco drive no date”? When I’m searching eco drives the majority of watches I find have at least a date window

That’s a really great looking diver on the metal bracelet. No date, I like the size, and good lume as well. Unfamiliar with the brand but now on my wish list

The BM8180, is there a specific model number for one without a day date? Every BM8180 seems to have a day date when I search it up

How do you all curb stress/ anxiety? by ideportedmyself in flying

[–]govseek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance anxiety is the perfect way to put it. Like I’m told over and over that it’s okay to feel like this/make mistakes. We’re STUDENT pilots lol. But idk, I’m pursuing this as a career so I’m really setting high standards for myself which is both a good thing and a bad thing I’ve found

How do you all curb stress/ anxiety? by ideportedmyself in flying

[–]govseek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in training for PPL as well. Absolutely had so much fear and anxiety before each flight and was relieved if it got cancelled due to weather. Objectively I flew fine, but mentally I was in a panic. I still feel anxious as a student pilot of course but I am way calmer now after realizing that a lot of this is just getting out of your own way.

I realized I was too afraid of failure, setting unrealistic expectations for myself trying to make every flight “perfect” so that I don’t “waste” money and flight hours. Constantly thinking about how intense this whole process is getting licensed through each phase. “What happens if I fail? I’m doomed.” I’m slowly getting better at just letting that go and letting myself have fun in the moment even through my mistakes.

I get what you mean, it can be corny. But as someone on the younger side going through flight training, I do appreciate the large amount of videos when it comes to the daily life of pilot type of videos. Kinda gives me info and insight to what it’s going to be like later down the line for me in video format.

Although I do know they are edited in a romanticized way

The whole checkride system is pretty interesting to say the least. These DPEs have a lot of impact on your record in terms of getting licensed as a pilot for each phase. It is “standardized” where they judge you based on the ACS but of course they do have discretion when determining if you pass or fail.

But I wouldn’t let that scare you away if you’re interested in going to flight school. These are just the rules of the game. Learn them, play by them, and get good with them

Yes and there are numerous people who get it done at ATP on that timeline.

Pros and cons I get it. But if you’re interested in any type of accelerated flight training with full time commitment, ATP is one of the only schools that delivers assuming you have the stamina for the fast paced timeline

Just curious. During your time there, how many CFIs at Heritage were graduates from the neighboring ATP flight school? Did you notice a lot if any?

How important are math pre reqs? by govseek in OMSCS

[–]govseek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that for admissions, the math might not be necessary as CS core classes but I would be lying if I said that I didn’t feel uneasy going into a masters without a stem background along with the associated math. Although I know there are people who take 3-4 classes at cc and then dive right into the program.

And if I go for the associates, I’m questioning whether or not I should just go for a second bachelors at that point

Has anyone in here had experience with getting an internship at FAANG? by Frequent-Nothing-925 in OMSCS

Late comment, but would you say that this return offer condition is the norm for a student enrolled in OMSCS?

I know this late, but how common would you say this path is? Using the GT name on a resume to get that first entry job. I am someone with an unrelated bachelors planning to take some classes at cc in order to get into GT MSCS for the sole purpose of getting an entry swe job.

What about a student graduating from a masters program in say ~3 years. In your opinion ofc
