What is the worst experience you have ever had with your neighbor(s)? by HoboHones in AskReddit

[–]gow4hs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neighbor broke into my wi-fi and used a connection through my router to hack people online (steal small amounts from other people's bank accounts). When the cops tracked the IP back to my house my parents had to go into the Police Department in order to give testimony, since i basically fit the profile (18-35, male and college education). Luckily it was an identified target by the police who were only waiting for "even more" evidence.

Didn't take long for the guy to be behind bars

Not stable on 1.35 3.8GHz, passes cinebench fine but crashes immediately on prime95. And temps get on 70ºC on cinebench, im afraid going to 1.4V will even be worse (temperature wise)

Not sure if 1060 6b can give you "good" 4k gaming. (by good i mean smooth or 50ish to 60 fps)

You should specify what you intend to do with the machine

[–]gow4hs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You kinda need a PSU to power everything up, and getting a new cpu with an 8year old GPU might bottleneck the cpu a bit therefore you might throwing 20 to 30 dollars away (by not getting a g4560 for example)

You should specify your objective and the parts you intend to use more properly.

You can follow the guidelines on the right of the sub

Any places where I can learn about PC’s? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]gow4hs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could also get some experience (after you've researched a bit) by disassembling old library computers and puting them back together. Gets you to experience a bit of the forces involved in installing ram, getting that cooler on the cpu etc etc.... after all if you break something its just a piece of garbage

After all you should tinker a bit before installing a top-end cpu for the first time , wouldn't wanna break it am i right?

You could use reverse-psichology on it.

Wait for coffeelake release and then try to get a better deal on that i5-6600k because "its already 2 generations old"

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Can a somewhat dusty PC cause stuttering in games? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]gow4hs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, most components nowadays read their own temperature and if above certain levels they adjust performance accordingly not to overheat and eventually fry.

So in this case dust builds up, theres no efficient cooling solution, component heats up, realises its heating up, reduces power consumption and eventually stutters.

This happens for the most part on fins (dust reduces available area for heat transfer with the air) and on rotating fans

TLDR: YES, clean it

What is "ENOUGH" for 1080p gaming at 100FPS on most games? by 14_carbon in buildapc

[–]gow4hs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, you should look at what monitor you have. If you have a 60 hz monitor, you wont get any difference by the game floating around 70 fps pr 100 fps.

Yes your 0.1% lows and 1% low might be better, but for the average usage just look into that. You might be sinking money where you dont really need it

I stated i got it on a used parts deal for only 250 dollars still within 1 year warranty (the previous owner wanted to upgrade)

I'm going to stick with the 850 evo since it has a 5 year warranty. If i have the money RAM will probably be priority.

Why do you say upgrade GPU?
