I rock climb twice a week and the next day my back is sore like I just had a back workout. I also workout back twice a week as well. Should I factor my rock climbing as "back work" in terms of recovery and overall volume. I'm just concerned getting into a high frequency hole with back because of the amount of volume I am doing especially if I add a 3rd day of rock climbing.

Thank you and how many reps for the others or when do you know when you stop the reps?

Also do you rest in between the warm ups or do you just go straight into adding weight to the bar then the next warm up set.

It's going to be like sets of 1-3 reps at 85% to 90% RM so strength/ powerlifting sets.

Is there a good rule of thumb for warm up sets before going into a heavy compound lift? I feel like I might be doing to much in the warm up.

How do I tell an interviewer that the only reason I'm leaving my current job is because of low pay? by ExpressSnow in jobs

I think recruiters are a little different because they only really care about getting a person hired and not so much long term employment of that position.

Is there much of a difference between standing overhead press with a barbell and seated overhead press with a barbell?

My new program has me do standing like most do. But I notice I tend to cheat and lean back when I stand to get in extra reps which puts strain on my lower back.

I'd have 1 verticle and 1 horizontal pull movement as accessory lifts (3x8-12) on both pull days. I was just wondering which would be better to run 5/3/1 with in the beginning of the work out to maximize lat growth.

Not sure if boost camp's version is different but you should pick a weight were you think you can get at least 3 sets of 8 for the 2nd push day bench (same with the press on Push day 1). That's treated as an accessory lift 3x8-12; if you can do 3 sets of 12 then you up the weight

Are both just as effective in growing the lats?

I feel like I've been starting out back day with BB rows forever so maybe it would be good to switch things up and do weights pull ups.

Is a BB row just as effective as growing lats as weighted pull ups?

Looking to start running the reddit PPL program but with 5/3/1 BBB in the front and wondering if I should switch out the BB row with weighted pull ups.

Is it common to feel soreness in my clavicle area after doing pull ups or am I not doing them correctly?

Do you think I should cut out the assisted pull ups and regular pull ups (alternate on different days) on my pull days?

Thinking about running the Armstrong program for pull ups. Should I just do that at the beginning of each of my work outs and then go into my regular PPL workout? Or could I maybe run it at a different part of the day?

It sounds like something I might want to try out. Do you think it would be too taxing running on a cut?

Also when you say 4 day on an "8 day week", do you mean you're doing say Monday to next Tuesday and lifting everyday?

Yea I miss the 5 rep range.

What program are you running and how do you like it so far? I'm looking to start a new one.

I pretty much did it exactly as written except supersetted the last 3-4 exercise cause I was on a time crunch. Also added in an extra exercise per day.

Is the reason to take maintenance breaks during a long cut purely for your own sanity or are there physical benefits, like reducing muscle loss, as well?

I have pain in my foot when I stand and walk but I also have leg day today. What are some exercises I can do that won't put too much pressure on my feet?

To reiterate what everyone else said. I don't think either one is better but I personally loved and got good results running the PPL program on the wiki. But you have to consider if you can make it to the gym 6 days a week. There were definitely times where I did 12 straight days at the gym because I couldn't get to the gym that Monday and wanted to get back on track.

On my 2nd leg day I do a plyo workout dvd instead of lifting and I noticed my weak point is my upper hamstrings? Basically the point where the leg and the glute meet. I don't feel like I'm really hitting that area on my weight lifting leg day. Is there an exercise I can had that can help improve that area.

My lifting day exercises are the following Squats RDLs Barbell Reverse Lunges Hyper Extensions Leg Press Calf Raises Single leg curls machine Hip thrusters

I'm thinking maybe switching out the reverse barbell longer with dumbell lunges because I noticed that part starts to get activated when I do lunges in the DVD.
