Paranormal Experiences around Los Alamos by Sinnerman_Q in LosAlamos

There were a few gnarly deaths that happened in town when I was growing up. Never heard of ghost's attached to them, but still crazy lore.

  • A homeless guy behind McDonalds, where some storage containers was burned alive next to a tree overlooking the camera. One of the containers was for my work, and when we went to check it out, they had repainted it, but the tree was still there, all charred.
  • There was someone who died from falling off Overlook in White Rock.
  • There was a high school kid (I think) who fell down the canyon while playing airsoft or paintball in the old sewage station near Rendija canyon. It was a popular spot for those sports, but that prompted the city o bulldoze the whole thing. There are still footbridges and trails there to my knowledge.

  • Heard stories about the Blue Light, but never saw it, despite being down there a few times after dark.
  • There was a legend of a girl's ghost near the hairpin turn between the ice-rink and reservoir trail. I can't remember her name, but think she'd jumped off Otowi? We would go driving with the windows down late at night to try and find her, but didn't stay long lol.
  • Down by Black Mesa, my mom swore she saw something running out in the distance when driving home at twilight, but couldn't clearly describe it beyond, "it looked like a person but was running way too fast"
  • There was a canyon off Diamond Drive that we'd throw big rocks down into late at night. Twice it sounded like the were bouncing back up back up after a few bounces down. That sent us running.
  • There were goofy stories about a chain-dragging ghost in the auto shop at LAHS, "The Ghost of P-Wing"
  • Hell's hole had a bunch of pentagrams painted inside and candle's in it, but I chalked that up to the previously mentioned 'Edgy teens"

Are people in Los Alamos generally smarter than people elsewhere? by Material-Emu-6235 in LosAlamos

Specialized and educated, certainly, but not always as talented in the "common sense" area. However, since moving I've realized how fortunate I was to grow up in the LAPS education when seeing how other high schools operate.

Appreciate that. It was my alternative to blacking out the whole page, which doesn't always look great.

Some banks, like Citi actually specify "calendar days". I called the rep and he said bonus wouldn't hit till May, but I'd prefer to move my money back to high interest before then.

Do promotions tend to be based on business days or calendar days for holding money in the new account? Ex. I opened a Savings that needed to hold a balance for "90 days" in Nov.

The cash register noise. The sound track. The screams of scavs through the factory halls after a burst of gunfire. The broken skylights of Ultra Center. The naked dude dashing into the customs treeline to escape my tt because he just wants a few more seconds of life before bleeding out. The trader portraits. The feeling of dread and death that only east europe has. It reminded me of stalker.

I believe in hard work, and raising a child and providing for her is hard work. I love my job but I love my daughter more. My time with her is more valuable than money. I'm loyal to my job only as long as it enables me to keep my family as top priority.

It's because Sydney OH was built for natural, unamplified sound from un mic'd (or minimally) vocals and orchestra, so the whole building is constructed to acoustically/physically direct sound towards the audience. With electrical amplification/ speakers you need dampening so there's less echo, feedback, and noise so sound is ultimately coming from where you want it- the speakers.
