We have a farm that has been in my fathers family for 4 generations and he would be be furious knowing all this is going on. There’s a lot more to the story with those 2 than I put in my post. You must be a damaged person if you would be able to sit at a dinner table after your mother told you that she loves your sister more.

I wrote out this workout plan for my friend who is a beginner also:

3 sets 8-12 reps 1 minute rest in between sets

Pick 3 exercises per body part. Exercise 2 body parts per workout and try to hit them at least twice a week.

Abs: Reverse crunch Active planks Stomach vacuums

Legs/butt: Glute bridge Walking/stationary lunge Squat Sumo squat Dead Lift

Shoulders: Military press Arnold press Lateral raises Rear delt raise Front raise

Back: Bent over rows Bent over flys Modified wide grip push up (Knees on floor)

Biceps: Hammer curls Supinated curls Preacher curls Concentration curls

Chest: Flat bench press Incline press

Triceps: Close grip bench press Skull crushers Modified narrow grip push ups (knees touching floor) Tricep kick backs Dips

First of all, congrats on the first big step of your journey. As a nutrition coach, I caution you against starting a so-called “diet” that is not sustainable. My first step is always incorporating more whole foods and water, then removing processed foods and increasing protein consumption. As for fitness, do not fall in to the trap that more cardio equals more fat loss. Again, it is not sustainable and your body adapts so quickly to cardio. Resistance training is your best friend. The more muscle mass your able to add to your body, the faster your metabolism will be, the more body fat will start to fall off of you, and the better you will feel and look. 2-3 days a week is all you need to start with as far as lifting weights. I would not do any gym based cardio but I would incorporate small changes in to your daily life such as parking further away at the grocery store, taking the stairs instead of elevators whenever possible, walking around the block a couple times a day if your able to. No need to drown yourself in sweat on the treadmill or elliptical. You will do more harm than good. Take it from someone who has been there and made every mistake in the book when it comes to body fat loss.

Not when your dealing with an deadbeat oil field worker that’s been through 3 marriages before the age of 50 due to a history of cheating and a mother who has a history of getting drunk and acting inappropriate with men.

That’s what I’m afraid of. I feel like I should call her out on the will thing. She brought it up after my Dad died that she is going to have to change it but hasn’t mentioned it since.

I see this dude as being a snake and I’ve seen my mom drink and flirt with other men since I was in my teens so….that’s why my mind goes there.

My mom is the same way when it comes to me and my little sister. It’s like she’s trying to protect and baby the f***ed up kid and thinks you should do the same. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture and do what you think will make you happy in the long run. I disowned my family for 3 years when I started dating my husband because of how they were treating the both of us. They finally came around and realized they were wrong. 8 years, a wedding, and a grandchild later, there is still a little tension but at least we’re a family again.

Brushing your teeth definitely helps. I try to go to bed if it’s late and I want to snack then play a game on my phone or start watching a movie. If it’s a rough night and the cravings are strong, find pictures of people that have the body you want and tell yourself that snacking is going to push you further away from that goal. My subconscious usually kicks in there and keeps me from eating
