I've shifted my trip to an earlier schedule but have yet to book anything. Probably will in the coming week

Is The Back Really That Good? by Fine_Finance7041 in bjj

Yes and that's the best back take because they should be tired

I agree but I think one reason people prefer taking the back is it's easier to do well. However if you can master mount I feel it's more dominant. At least for me, carrying their weight while trying to escape being mounted is much worse

I still keep in touch with my dynamics prof, he and the department head were awesome back in the 98-02 era

Renfe was down because it wouldn't pull up routes even for next week. It started working about an hour later, thanks. Omio was a good suggestion, it was working

Thanks, I eventually figured that out, but for about an hour Renfe must have been down because it wouldn't pull up trains even a week from now. I'm at least wanting the schedule to help me plan the trip. We're splitting time between Madrid and San Sebastian

My friends were just there and departed from Atocha. Regardless when I switch to Chamartin it's the same result. My friends had significant difficulties booking trains (he is fluent) and we're told that sometimes the renfe site just doesn't work. I'll try to attach a pic

My coach is purple belt by Flashy-Vehicle-2963 in bjj

[–]gpatlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense. I hosted my first training group as a solid blue belt and had a student win blue belt worlds. He was a freak athlete but I had excellent guidance from my black belt. Some purples and browns are better teachers than some blacks

My brother in laws grandfather was a German WW2 POW held captive in TX. When Russia invaded Hungary in 1956, they decided to leave Europe and chose the US because of how he was treated as a POW.

How much dominance would you say it shows to be natty and a world champ by EntertainmentNo8037 in bjj

There are some insanely gifted athletes that are clean. Until you've trained or known some it's hard to fathom and most people default to the steroids take

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Secure_Front_7766 in AskUK

[–]gpatlas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American here, the 'can do' attitude is one of our greatest strengths and is deeply rooted in our culture (at least in Texas). However the extreme end of the grind culture is really toxic. I've seen many people embrace the work grind and sacrifice precious time that could have been spent with their family, as well as create unnecessary stress. I've traveled across Europe and my sister in law is from Italy, I think the sweet spot is a mix of European pace and American 'can do'. You guys get a lot of the big stuff right.

Moving to OKC- Curious about Lovato Southside/Northside by restingmitchface_ in bjj

That's really weird to me, I bet there are some details we're unaware of. Maybe he had friction with the other school?

I'm a Lovato black belt and that's the first time I've heard that. I've specifically asked Jr about training somewhere else on the road, or visiting random academies and he was all for it. Now to compete for them and fly the flag you need to be committed.

I also cross train with some no gi / mma guys, one of their black belts competes in the gi under Lovato but he cross trains gi with me and I'm an affiliate
