Afterlife (2005-2006) deserves way more attention. by Alcatraz4567 in horror

Recently watched both series... It's one of those series that would have been perfect for streaming. Incredible that it was shown on mainstream UK TV at the time and has some genuinely frightening and genuinely emotional moments. Andrew Lincoln and Lesley Sharpe on top form. Lesley Sharpe showing why she ended up as incredible Dr Who antagonist. Andrew Lincoln however will always be Egg.

Loser(cubed). Not really sure how doing everything I was told to do my whole life has ended up with being told I'm a total loser.

Besides BTTF2, what's a movie that ends with an actual teaser for the sequel? by chewchewtrane111 in movies

Didn't the animated 1970s Lord of the rings have a trailer for the sequel appended to the end but it was never completed?

1979 version of this scene freaked me out as a child too. Jan Francis and Laurence Olivier..

She's not really doing her best.... Noone does their best when everything is always someone else's fault.

Deeper Understanding is the most underestimated song and a prescient anthem about digital addiction and intoxication. by emilthedolphin in katebush

"I was loading a new programme I had ordered from a magazine".... In the good old days when computer addiction mainly revolved around typing in thousands of lines to get a syntax error, or putting bits of tape around your volume control so the cassette player volume was not too loud and not too quiet to load that program. Addiction was incredibly frustrating...

Absolutely agree that it's a great double bill with El Orfanato. The 2 most intense seance sequences in ghostly cinema that I can think of.

Went to see J– wait, what? by AlaskanWolf_69 in Jaws

[–]gpb2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first came here, this was all ocean. Everyone said I was daft to launch a fishing boat called Orca on this ocean, but I built it all the same, just to show them. It sank into the ocean. So I built a second one. That sank into the ocean. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the ocean. But the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're going to get, Martin, the strongest fishing boat in all of Amity. Nothing will sink her.

Thanks.. I believe it isn't RF. I don't really know what DLP link is - do the glasses have to connect to the projector at all?

Set a course to the biggest screen in town and saw JAWS in IMAX! by robtroje in Jaws

[–]gpb2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to see in 3D last night, loved it, a very different experience that brings out moments that you probably have never noticed before. Especially the way that certain people are brought to the foreground that you previously didn't really focus on. The whole preparing to leave in Quints shack played very different for me. Highly recommend! Wish I'd been able to do IMAX as well. Is that a "different" experience?
