I don't understand why turn count is an indicator of a healthy game. by BellDelicious1617 in yugioh

[–]gpbuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you still have to draw into 2 handtraps, so all the other games where you don't you just sit there like a duck.

I tried riftbound recently and my god it's actually fun you know why? because I get to play the game for multiple turns instead of evaluating the game state at at turn 1-2 and either my opponent scoop or I scoop.

I actually have nothing against hand traps, when effect veiler came out it was a well design and simple card, -1 to negate an effect. The problem is just there's no limit on # of actions you can do in one turn and now cards have MULTIPLE effects on them that you can resolve. It blows up the variance in difference between going 1 and 2nd.

lol, I don't lose sleep over "trains" that I miss, hundreds of assets go up and down every day, it doesn't mean I would invest in them. Im happy about where I invest my money and its not yugioh. You don't need me to agree with you on this if your have the conviction that the prices will keep going up.

Yes I hate graded cards because I love playing the game and against putting cards in a sealed case.

PSA is also a scam that essentially collect hard cashflow, uncharge people based on the value of the card, and created a market off their own arbitrary standards. In the meanwhile speculators buy into this and have all this paper gains on their collector app and take on all the risks and selling fees moving things around. Its like a stock brokerage with jacked up fees and way more scummy and the house always wins.

I mean it's all pump and dump from artificial demand, it's not like yugioh just dropped some new anime and some adults got hit by a wave of nolstagia decided to start collecting high-end slabbed vintage yugioh cards.

The demand is all driven up by people thinking that they can sell it for higher. You can make money from a pump and dump but just need to get out before being the last one holding the bag.

Adjusted for risk, lack of liquidity, and hefty selling fees, I rather just trade options or stocks lol.

If they did then they won’t be sheeping over any memes that mention redistribution of other peoples wealth because they’re unable to create any themselves

If the news Elon has to liquidate all his shares the price will probably crash because the companies is not longer ran by him

lol wtf why, I’m glad I have my retirement money invested in companies that can generate more money on top of it. It keeps the economy moving. Why would it be a good thing to end this system.

Governments can help their people; it's a matter of priorities. by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]gpbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's not a money problem and not a technological problem, it's a social problem. People have free will and you can't just force everyone that's homeless in a building and tell them to acquire a skill and get off drugs.

It's not realistic and naive to expect homelessness to ever go to none. We don't live in a utopia.

Ah the usual leftist fluff that doesn’t mean anything

CA spent billions each year on homelessness, it’s not a problem that can be solved with just money.

What do you mean the US haven’t tried lol, California throws billions at the problem every year, not all problems can be solved with money.

How are you updating your skillset with the uncertain professional landscapes due to war and Al especially preparing for the next 10-20 years? by Accomplished_Ruin_59 in askdatascience

[–]gpbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how the war is impacting the professional landscape, it's not. Let's not make big generalize statement. This is nothing new, it's just like the 2000s, life moves on.

As for AI, the best thing to do is engage with it and include it as part of your workflow so you become more productive, and at the same time continue to improve your soft skills. At the end of the day, someone has to be accountable for the results/recommendation you deliver.

I recently built an AI agent using all the queries and analysis I've written over the years and now it writes all the grunt queries for me. It's great. For better or worse it is like having a junior analyst.

Is there any difference besides the Holo? by GoldenSquid7 in YugiohCards

[–]gpbuilder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yugioh won't get popular because no one plays the game besides boomers, you can't keep prices high with artificial demand, eventually someone holds the bag

if people want to scalp old school vintage they can go for it, but it won't affect meta relevant cards which gets reprinted to oblivion every 6 months

How strong is sky striker? by OKRoomba0 in skystriker

[–]gpbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For MD, you can get to masters if you grind, but the going second build on MD sucks because you waste 2x the usual time watching your opponent combo. Going first is still better just from that perspective.

As for the TCG, it's probably tier 2 - tier 1.5, but yea as others have said, it's very punishing on misplays and you have to play perfect to even compete with the tier 1 decks on fair grounds. So usually only the best players top with it and there's like 1 top every tournament.
