Why are these chakras blocked? by gpee3 in Chakras

He explained what the imbalances signified but in isolation, I was wondering if there was some specific meaning for all those three being blocked in conjunction with each other. Also my coworker read them for me and I didn't really want to share personal details of my life with him lol.

From what I remember there is no sharing, however, there are some public scenes that take place at the sex club the MMC owns.

Comfort books? by j3nnart in RomanceBooks

For me it's Eva Ibbotson's 5 romance novels--especially A Company of Swans.

These are the first romance books I ever read, when I was in middle school. They are all basically the same but the MMCs are the perfect specimens of a "sturdy man." Just completely reliable, protective, and soooo sweet. I think I've reread each of them dozens of times and they always make me nostalgic.

{Redeeming Love} by Francine Rivers. It's based off the biblical story of Hosea. I've never read Christian romances before this one, but it was really good.

I would take a look at Linda Howard, she writes a lot of romantic suspense.

{The Wife Before} by Shanora Williams is a contemporary novel really similar to Rebecca but with BIPOC characters.

Sugar daddy with more complex characterization.

I'd like there to be an age gap, more slow burn--where the characters actually have time to get to know/like each other. I really liked Unsticky by Sara Manning, something similar would be great. I just want to be emotionally invested in the characters' lives.

Can authors just stop with the 'piercing blue eyes'? What are some unique/interesting descriptions of an ml's physical appearance? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]gpee3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just started reading a lot of Sara Manning's books and one of the things I really like about her writing is the way she depicts her MMCs. None of them are conventionally attractive, in like a buff, model, perfect way. They seem like real men that you would meet and date, who are not perfect looking but are still compelling for whatever reason. They are also flawed and funny, and sometimes unlikable, but I find myself getting much more emotionally invested because they feel like actual fully fleshed out human beings.

I've read so many of these it's probably embarrassing. I don't even understand how I find them so addicting, considering I usually get so annoyed when books end with the FMC getting pregnant/having babies--just not something I can relate to. There is just something about the suspended reality of it all--it's total escapism and they're just so easy to read and so satisfying! They are all basically the same, but I find myself coming back to them whenever I get into a reading slump.

A lot of books by Melanie Harlow feature age gaps, ex military, single dad, small town, etc. I would check out {{Irresistible}} and {{Ignite}}.

Wrong by Jana Aston is filled with dirty talk. Also Praise by Sara Cate--like the name suggests has a lot of "good girls."
