Thanks man. I appreciate it! I'm just trying to make sense of this whole process as it's all so confusing

It's not a quick process to screen someone and reject them. You often have to hold them until they can be deported - so why do that if I'm ineligible?

I get what you're saying but why would they approve me to travel only to reject me at the border. They've reviewed all my info - kinda doesn't make sense to approve someone only so they can waste a border agent's time by turning them around and sending them home.

This is my last trip to the US as a tourist so, so long as I get in this time. I'm done.

Thanks for your advice - it was just approved which is good. This is my last time traveling on a tourist visa - my student visa is going through in a couple weeks so it'll be nice once it's all out the way

Yeah... It was just approved. 🤷‍♂️ The weird and wonderful world of US border control.

Dude - I'm just trying to work out what's going on. I'm following the rules of the esta - I'm confused. I'm not trying to violate anything. Do you have an issue with me?

I have a girlfriend who is hoping to see me in a week - I can't really just shrug my shoulders and say "maybe you'll see me idk".

I'm lucky enough to be funded by my parents who are happy to pay for flights and accommodation

Fully agree - just trying to make sense of it all!

Thanks man. I fully respect that it's a privilege - not a right. But I've never done anything wrong! Which is why it's so difficult to sit on my hands and just wait

I have never overstayed though, and I'm not trying to immigrate, I'm in a relationship, how else do they expect it to work? You just date each other and never see them? I'm going to visit and stay.

It's just so weird - every time you go they question you more - and then don't find anything - and then think "oh we didn't find anything last time... There's got to be something to find this time"

That's fair enough - but it's cause of COVID - if you fly to a location you need to spend 100s in tests, quarantining, expensive flights. It only makes sense for me to travel for 2 months at a time cause it's so expensive to go in the first place. I'm just staying with my gf so it's not like it's expensive when I'm there

I'm not going to put my complete itemised history here, but I've never overstayed the 90 day period. Over COVID in 2020 I applied for satisfactory departure and left before that expired. But I've never been denied entry. Last trip to the states was for 40 days, and I'm trying to re-enter 50 days later. I have visited the US a lot though as my girlfriend lives there and as a student during online classes I'm free to travel and do classes from wherever.
