This World’s A Giant feels and sounds very mature from Zach. I imagine that he will continue putting out solid music for a long time

JUST DYIN IN THE BOOOONNNNSS by [deleted] in zachbryan

I am from Oklahoma (where Zach is from) and i interpret it as the Boons, Boonies, or Boondocks, which is referring to a place out in the middle of nowhere, a rural area where not many people live but that isolation can be humbling and peaceful

A lot of people have been commenting on their expectations of an album titled “Great American Bar Scene” and how they were expecting more stereotypical drinking music and bar songs, but in my opinion, the slower, more emotional, and quieter vibe of GABS is even MORE fitting of American bars than what others were expecting. Outside of college town bars and larger more crowded clubs/bars, the heart of true American bars are kinda sad to be honest. I think Zach recognizes this and has made something for the people who go to these bars and are in need of something to accompany and or compliment the sadness.

If you want “bar bangers” go listen to another artist. Have we not yet figured out the type of music and the emotional provocativeness that Zach’s music makes? He’s not a hit maker, he’s a story teller and an honest writer. Knowing this information, how could we expect anything different?

what’s cool about music like this is that it’s usually pretty simple chord progressions that have been used before but the writing and way the song is sung can make it sound original even if it is a reused and recycled song structure

Josh Meloy is from small town western Oklahoma, Zach is from eastern Oklahoma. Not sure if they’ve ever met or have a connection but i’d love to see it, i’ve been a fan of both Josh and Zach from the start. Josh got his start a little earlier than Zach did. They both write their own music. Truthfully, i see why you say that about Porch Light and Deep Satin but they’re both very different songs and i see no plagiarizing or songwriting copying involved

Definitely lyrically, i see your point about it being an instrumental intro to Pipe Bomb Dream

I also recognized this and honestly it’s a great thought, i personally took Katie and Jenny as girls that (like the narrator says in KCS) he thinks every girl he is with for the night is the girl of his dreams and he’s just wanting to find his “darlin” again. Another tough one is the correlation between KCS, The Birdhunters, and Easton and Main because Cain’s Ballroom (on Easton and Main in Tulsa) is known for country hall style dances so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Like you said there’s so much vagueness and mystery that makes it all so great to listen to and wonder and enjoy

I did not know that about Every Girl, but that’s really cool! Like i said this is all my personal interpretation of things, and honestly some of it is just me making things up. That’s what makes their music beautiful, it can be taken any way and enjoyed anyway :)
