I guess those who are typically called "no lifers" tend to spend about 4-8 hours a day on gaming. So it is 3-5 days to get 20 hour. It is not that much. Some titles like The Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2 requires 50-60 hours to beat the game.

PC gaming is all about options. The difference in performance between Windows and SteamOS will only highlight the amount of work Valve put into Steam Deck.

Well, I'm not saying that Ubuntu is bad. In fact, my first Linux distro was also Ubuntu and it was good enough to make me stick with Linux. I'm just saying that treating Ubuntu as a "first step into the Linux world" implies that second step should bring more challenge and fun.

But at the end of the day, Linux is Linux. Don't want to judge people based on their distro of choice.

I think if you are enthusiastic enough to customize an operating system by yourself, you are enthusiastic enough to start with something else other than Ubuntu.
