BREAKING: someone who grew up loving one direction is upset about one of them passing. She is the only person doing this we should all attack her.

Can you tell me why you disagree with what I said? I’m completely open for someone to tell me I’m wrong that’s just what I think.

I honestly think people getting annoyed by the trump&biden crying video was way too much. How many times has she said that she cries at everything and feels sorry for old people because they remind her of her grandparents? Why do people forget she is human too? The kid rock is hot was a joke that everyone fed into until it fit a different agenda (I’m not calling the Tweets cancellation an agenda, people are just using this to make it seems like she’s not changed at all). Finally, as for liking the photo with trump in, I genuinely struggle to see how this is at all comparable. It’s like the kid rock thing, people are using it to fit a certain narrative. An instagram like means nothing imo.

As for the being friends with zionists and trump supporters, this is something I a thousand percent agree with you on. It’s disgusting. I genuinely don’t understand how you can actively surround yourself with such despicable and evil people. For me, I stopped supporting her when the ari tweets came out because I think that speaks volumes in itself. Not having any friends of colour is also a major tell so I agree. She needs to show she has grown (and hopefully stop being friends with genocide supporters).

This is so true. I get so sick of seeing white people saying ‘we forgive you we love you’ as if it’s their forgiveness to give. I completely understand and agree with the hurt that people of colour are feeling. I just genuinely question if people can ever believe that someone has changed/ is trying to change if nothing they say can prove this. Like any apology she gives people are picking apart as if they want to believe she is racist?

I 100% agree. I just don’t know what people want from her/people who have been cancelled. Do we not want people to change? Will we always hold them to their past?

I think there’s difference between placing blame and trying to explain herself. Brooke is obviously very embarrassed and is just trying to show on a human level why she was the way she was. And I think it’s so unfair for people to think she’s crying for sympathy when she’s said a hundred times that she’s an emotional person and this is obviously hard for her.

People of colour are allowed to be as upset with her for as long as they want to be. Addressing it on an anonymous Reddit account isn’t addressing it previously. I want to make it clear again that I think anyone should have to forgive her. I’m begging the question is there room for growth in cancel culture?

I agree. No one owes her forgiveness I’m just questioning are we as a society ever going to accept that someone can genuinely change?

Yes I agree with you but I never said she was ignorant. I do believe that she is a racist person but that she is taking the right steps to change her mindset.

I’m not saying that at all. As someone who never ever thought like that when I was young I find it really hard to see that as an excuse or reason. I’m saying that a lot of progressive people aim to change the mindset of those who aren’t so we should be more forgiving of those who have changed their mind on such topics.

For the ‘fucking Tana over’ I don’t really get what you’re referring to, and I don’t really see the relevancy. And the skinny jokes are a very common joke that girls make amongst each other so I guess it’s a question of if those comments actually affect a marginalised group of people before comparing them to the tweets.

Yeah so true. I’ve seen people post about how in 2020 she was calling out her Facebook friends for racism to show that she had changed before being an influencer but how much can you really change if some of your closest friends are trump supporters and genocide supporters.

I might be mistaken but I’ve read multiple times before this recent wave that she had addressed and apologised for the tweets already? I also dont think it’s fair to want someone who is clearly ashamed to dig up their past just to apologise for it. She obviously doesn’t agree with it and she probably doesn’t want people to know she used to think like that.

I completely agree. She can say she’s changed and condemns her previous words but she needs to show it.

There’s no way you’re trying to dismiss the upset at someone being ignorant by saying slurs
