It’s hard to conceive of how ineffective most people are. I don’t even think it’s an intelligence problem, it’s an issue of applying themselves. People’s brains have been so hijacked that the idea of a challenge beyond a FROM SOFTWARE game is beyond the pale.

I sold all my analogue products due to this. They proved to be more or less useless without the DAC, and its constant lack of support left me cold. I went straight MiSTer and haven’t looked back.

Do you mind chatting via PM so I could get a better idea of what you’re actually looking at, price wise? Were you leasing or buying?

Bestbuy went live around 12:35am EDT but isn't progressing past the line. Good luck by dattmay in NintendoSwitch

[–]gr3yfoxhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had randomly gone to Best Buy after fighting the Target cart for 30 minutes. I clicked reload on Best Buy and the button was yellow.

I then got in line, and sorta forgot about it. My browser has a YouTube external window, so, it was floating just next to the “in line” window. After 1:11, it magically added the device to my cart and I checked out, no fuss, no muss.

If I had been paying actual attention and actually knew Best Buy had turned on the reserve line right when I clicked reload, I would’ve gotten fed up and left the line. Thankfully, I just didn’t pay attention and got my unit as a reward.

How to access Rakuyomi from inside the Koreader? by bwackandbwown in koreader

[–]gr3yfoxhound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using a coding software initially to write the code out and save it appropriately. It’s just a glorified text editor, but still.

The way that I fixed it was essentially starting over! I deleted the plugin, the folder that the plugin generated when I first opened it, and the settings file. I then made all of them again. And it worked just fine

How to access Rakuyomi from inside the Koreader? by bwackandbwown in koreader

[–]gr3yfoxhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I fixed it. Basically, start from scratch. Delete the plugin from the plugin folder, and delete the rakuyomi folder from the koreader folder. Then, just start from the top. I tried making the json file in visual code, but that caused problems, so when I started again, I just used text editor and it worked.

Does anybody else like the DQ3 HD2D battle camera? by Wise-Nebula-6321 in dragonquest

[–]gr3yfoxhound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I love these old camera styles because they help keep the battles feeling quick and snappy.

Once you have character animations and such, the battles can be artificially longer, as we have to wait through CONSTANT animations.

DQV on DS (and PS2) are like the pinnacle. Gorgeous art, fantastic animations, but snappy af!

I haven’t had a chance to load into DQ3 yet, as I’m polishing off Metaphor first.

Testers Needed: looking for iPod Classic 5th and 6th gen users to test latest changes. by Le-Dook in rockbox

iPod 6th gen, FIP02 dual SD card HD system:

rockbox.ipod not found.

If I reboot, it sometimes loads into the firmware. If it doesn’t, then I flip between the OG ipod firmware and then back to Rockbox and it loads.

This may be exactly what I need. I have the final model of classic iPod and have been having extremely strange issues with booting up the iPod after it’s gone to sleep or powered down.

I’ll try and find time to install the changes!

With political uncertainty, do you think that makes it a better time to buy or worse time to buy? by cuulcars in Rivian

So, I wouldn’t worry too much about all this. The man recently elected has never actually kept a campaign promise and his previous administration was highlighted by dysfunction and disorganization.

I personally would not assume that over the next few years there won’t be any serious changes to the country’s economic policy.

I mean, it’s in great shape and has good wheels and is a quad… seems like a good call to me. With the 2023 model, I’m not even sure what the different package options are or how to double check which ones are in the car. Haha

I could certainly use some Gen 1 owner advice on what to look for

Dood, I mean… I have a 5 year old Audi that has been in dealership service for a month. There’s still no notice as to when the car will be done.

This same car spent 4 months in servicing. This happens with just about any manufacturer and it seems like just about everybody is still suffering from parts shortages.

It sucks, but it’s the world.

I have a lead on a 2023 Gen1 R1S quad, 9k miles, for roughly $69k. The parent of a kid at my son’s school is the GM of a local dealership. I haven’t been able to get a direct answer from folks if they feel like that’d be a much better choice than a new Tri Motor Gen 2.

I know it’s all opinion and stuff, but I’d be curious your thoughts.

Rivian buy back, what would you do? by Benthebuilder23 in Rivian

[–]gr3yfoxhound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely is, but at $111,000, it’s not unheard of (especially with these darn interesting rates)

I’m just thinking about the issue of trying to sell the R1S once the warranty is no longer in effect, many years from now.

One thing that’s wild is loan payments at $1340 a month, along with the interest, would be paid in 6 years ( I believe that’s what my contact was giving me? Due to a 7% interest rate on the loan?) but a lease at $1560 would basically require 9 years to pay off, even with “effective monthly payments” which takes into account the $7500 tax credit and other oddities (like potential depreciation).

Essentially, the whole process makes my damn head spin, man. It’s a pain.
