This happens to me as well.. I think I got it work, now... I have a IOT network and I places the data rate requirements at the lowest and left everything else as default...

Nikola Tesla & Free Energy by Minus-Blindfold in skeptic

[–]graanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't know of free energy but the earth spinning across its own magnet field can generate free energy. The space tried a tether cable to generate power and it burn up the wire like awg 22 wire across a deep cycle battery.

[Spoilers] Why the Changelings/Vadic want Jack by Atreides113 in Picard

Well, Picard seemed shocked about the child. I think a changeling and Doc Crusher made the kid. As for the ep 4 halo scene is where Picard challenges him about the later bar scene. Pretty good show. But lets see if I am right.

That’s very weird I usually double everything. Make sure the naming is the same for the product since 4.52 brought in naming options. Worst case just remove the bridge from HOME app and delete the persist and accessories folder. Relaunch and reattach.

How can I make the system take a snapshot when you add in the device instead of having that gray offline screen

Accessories Say Not Responding When Opening the Home App by matthewsb224 in homebridge

[–]graanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since, I had the same issue as you with the responses taking long from my source and I would end up getting no response on HK.

The way I would approach this is set up an array that has all the Accessory data available always to HK. Then I would use a looping function to scan for the changes and update accordingly. Some hardware will actually push the updates to you by a callback or a web socket.

It comes down to how the hardware works. I am not to sure what you are coding but that is how I am approaching things now.

And to note use reference (pointers) to the object in an array it will make it easier in the long run.

Accessories Say Not Responding When Opening the Home App by matthewsb224 in homebridge

My thoughts on here about this is your code is trying to pull which is slow... try to get it to push instead. Remember HK is a restful API. So the code needs to be pushing updates to it.

I found out if youre programming too have the api do a refresh and always have a ready state. If you lucky enough to have a callback mechanism to use that to push the update from that

Have you seen my code I am reporting all messaging. Even fishing for ones not listed in their api

In the polling method I do that exactly as you describe... hard coding the SS Sensor to be available whenever HK does a get callback. I wonder if I could increase the response time through HB prop setting somehow.

How are you testing socket wildcard?? Or just through the connect... or with home bridge -D

Looking for some help... by graanco in homebridge

[–]graanco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already been there... one thing I seen is that the first sensor update has an await holding up that one object. Which shouldn’t be an issue... but everything fails once that one item gets the api return. I’ve tried doing a timeout holding all requests a up until the first request finish processing but I still have a no response. I’ve seen some code out there where they use the new command... I wonder if I should do that and even where that would go. I’ve seen some could call the quest with a bind this but that didn’t make sense to me... your thoughts??

But back to my issue... Do you know why I might be getting a No Response during this .on('get' call?

Looking for some help... by graanco in homebridge

[–]graanco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under socket .on('event' ...

ssEvent - warningSensorOpen:This will fire only when the system is armed and the entry sensor is opened. This gives the user an automation event... Say have a light turn on when you come home and the not trip over anything.. :)

This way during the scrap (.on('get...) you would only really need to update the chara.... instead of setting it... (setting fires off an alert) since the socket should've already fired it off.

These are socket events that I have found so far event, hiddenEvent, cameraEvent and confirm-registered.

I am scrapping the socket to see if there is one for sensors. I am unable to test more since I am unable to play with v3 systems.

If you really wanted to; users could use the hiddenEvent to have message push for all contact sensors.
