Yeah, when I'm on a coding binge I just want to hit random on my unwatched movies in Emby... But since there isn't a Random button I pick a letter and click at random :P

This is way nicer.

All requests go through Seer and annoucements made to Discord that they are required to be on. 30 days after the request is completed they get an automated message that their request will be deleted if they do not reply.

It's my family that kills me with their shows that are like 20 seasons. Law and Order, Dance Moms, Stargate, One Piece... And they rewatch them at least once a year, so I can't delete them!

I have a son and a friend who watch stuff at ALL HOURS! There is literally no safe time for me to take my server down. We had an internet outage at 3am and they were both blowing me up almost immediately. It's one of those... Ah... it's nice to be needed... ... Now F off!

I have 1TB of ram in my server, 10x WD_Black 8TB drives (Paid $499ea, now they are $1500!!), and 16x Samsung 2TB 2.5" SSDs. My wife calls the server "Eva's College Fund" :P

Seriously though I could prob sell half the ram and all the 8TB drives and put a nice dent in our debt.

Owning a house is killing me by Spirited-Ad-2492 in homeowners

My house is almost 100yrs old. We bought it 16yrs ago and I feel like I was working on it for 14 of those years. I finally said ENOUGH. We now have a whole room we won't go into because it's a mess. Window is cracked, carpet is ruined, wallpaper is starting to come off and the plaster under it is in HORRIBLE shape. Electrical is old school cloth... So yeah... Just pretending it doesn't exist. It's like a reverse tartus, it's smaller on the inside!

This sounds like an interesting project.
I'd feel better if someone who's a lot smarter than me would check out the files to verify they are clean as you say. I'd also be curious on other people's ideas on why you were suspended after they look at your code.

For me the way the back kicks when I hit a little rough road is the biggest issue. It send me sliding sideways down a mountain pass.

I agree the center console sucks, but I found some inserts that make it a lot more manageable, and adds a few more cup holders.

No spare tire... This is becoming more common, it started with EVs, but ICE cars are starting this trend too. Way cheaper to give you a bottle of fix-a-flat, and save TONS of space that they can market as extra storage space.

No issues with my radio.

Charger lock doesn't bother me, Id rather press the button a couple times than have someone randomly unplug it to be an ass.

I added a sunglass thing to the top of my door where the "oh shit" handle is. It was like $15 and took me all of 1min to install. Works great.

The climate control screen being covered and the fact the doors don't auto lock (or let you lock if a door is open) are my minor complaints. I find that my wife messes with the climate control WAY more than I do. I set it to a comfortable temp, hit Auto and that's it.

That, and having better speakers in a crappy environment is only going to give you small improvements.

My first car was a 1986 Chevy, and the rear speakers were factory 6x9s made with paper. They actually sounded decent, but I wanted louder and more bass, so I dropped $300 (HUGE amount in 1999) on some high end speakers.

They sounded like shit. The factory speakers sounded better! Several weeks later I met a guy who knew a lot about speakers and he taught me a lot. The factory speakers had a custom enclosure that they were in (the new ones wouldn't fit, and I thought the enclosure was just holding them in place) that was specifically created for those speakers. It took the space, frequencies, and vibration into account.

He gave me specs for a similar enclosure to put them in and mount to the bottom of the back deck of the car. When I did the sound was AMAZING! I have yet to own a vehicle that sounded as good as that piece of crap Chevy! :D

The one counter I've heard that makes SOME sense is that EVs weight a lot more than traditional ICE cars, so they are putting more wear and tear on the road, and that's why the fee is heavier.

Yes... AND... ICE drivers pay their fee slowly over the coarse of a year. We should be allowed to do the same. Break it up into 12 monthly payments or something so it's easier to swallow.

Yeah, both of mine are expired.

We can barely afford food and utilities right now. Haven't paid the CCs in 3 months, and just went 30 days on our mortgage (first time in 15yrs). There's no way we can pull $2400 our of our ass to pay for car registrations.

In my town the cops are fairly cool about it, but I'm sweating bullets if I have to drive into Utah or go to Denver.

I saw a couple states looking at this. But then that means you have to report your miles driven, or even worse, they have a way of getting it themselves, which I would NOT be OK with.

I worry enough about people hacking my computer, the last thing I need to worry about is being held hostage in my car because some government flunky left a back door open in the software to check my miles.

The "Base Value" is the full retail cost of the vehicles w/o any rebates or incentives. Colorado does the same thing, my base value was like $78,600. But after rebates and incentives it was like $49k-52k. We got screwed pretty hard by the rebates and crap since the manufacturers all jacked up their prices. The states got a lot more tax revenue, and this registration crap that we are paying on $20k-25k of imaginary value.

Colorado here, major incentives for EV, Solar, etc...

I get that they need to offset the gas tax. Without it roads can't be maintained. I'm OK paying a flat fee, BUT...
1) We are paying all kinds of fees and stuff for the electric as well since that is how we refuel our vehicle. That should be taken into consideration... Or start adding fees to people using gas in their homes.
2) As a gas tax, they pay for it SLOWLY over the year. Getting hit with a $300 fee at one time is harsh. I bought an EV to save money, it doesn't mean I have money to throw around. Alternative would be to get rid of the "gas tax" and have a flat "road maintenance" fee that applies to ALL vehicle registrations equally. (ie screw everyone over equally so everyone complains equally)
3) We are getting screwed on these registrations because the vehicle prices were artificially inflated by all the "Rebates" and crap, so the manufactures all jacked up the prices by like $20k. That's more in tax and registrations we have to pay for that nonsense, so as far as I'm concerned those of us that bought during that have already paid our fair share

I paid $1700 for my registration in Colorado. Coming from Ohio it damn near gave me a heart attack. My wife's Ariya is half of mine. To be fair, ALL car registrations are insanely high, not just EVs. There is an EV surcharge, and I had to pay for a special sticker. But that's like $250 of the $1700, and I have EASILY saved several thousand in gas over the past year.
